This year has been a crazy year.  I guess it has been the past few years.  But I just got done seeing a youtube film on my town yesterday.  It's just nuts being this way in February!  Is it acting weird in your area too?  The Iditarod starts soon, I'm starting to wonder if it's going to happen!

Here is yesterday in Anchorage.  Seems just like a few days ago we were in negative weather.

Yeah... I hear ya. We have had HUGE dumps of snow... then yesterday and early today- you would have SWORE it was spring! It was WARM and so nice! Right now it's blowing like HE$# and poring. Friday we are suppose to go from rain to snow- and as darned far as the weather is predicted... we see SNOW. I am SO SO CONCERNED the snow will make us MISS our vacation :( It's been FOURTEEN YEARS.... can the weather just LET UP to help us get out of town SAFELY?!  I'm sweating it! Last year in March- we had that BIG MELT as well. It was horrible. Our basement flooded- that was a first for us since we've lived in this house. We are a little lower than the other homes and everything melted SO FAST- (over 100 inches of snow!) the ditch plugged up with snow/ice and it had no where to GO--- but IN MY HOUSE.  That was great fun. But yeah... you're NOT ALONE in the weird weather! I remember my grandparents and parents telling me it "goes it cycles"... I wonder?  We had TONS of snow here when I was a kid... maybe the cycle has come around again?  Stay dry my fellow WET Eskimo  :)

It's been about right around here. This feb is rather dry, but we are almost to our annual rainfall level.

What's irking me is the back and forth of it.... We had a good week of decent weather in the mid 60's to mid 70's so all of our bulbs started to poke their heads up.....they are all AT LEAST a good inch out of the ground now (some of them began poking the mulch above them up off of the ground.....

Well over the last 2 weeks we have had inches of snow, freezing rain, ice -- and MORE is due today.... Same thing happened last year and all of our landscaping (that which came up at all) looked like crap!  The ice just 'burned' the poor plants at the top and they barely bloomed and then died quickly. Poor things are confused!

Well, what can I say about south Texas?  70's and 80's most of the time except for summer when it's 900 degrees and you don't even want to go outside.  Cold fronts blow through sometimes and give us some 30's and 40's but then they are gone in a few days. Now, we did get snow in 2004.  That was wild.  Seeing snow on Galveston beaches was different for us. Weather I love to play in - snow in Michigan, cool nights in San Diego and breezy days in Miami!  WOW, I need a vacation!

Ahhh.... galveston beaches!   I spent MANY a summer on the galveston beaches!  A lot of my family is from Livingston, TX -- don't know if it's anywhere near you or even if you've heard of it but we went to Galveston and stayed at -- hmm....Gaidos???  Something like that?  Familiar with it?  I have fond memories of walking up the piers and biking up the boardwalk

Our weather in Michigan has been very odd indeed.  This year our snowfall so far has doubled what the last couple years have been.  Actually we normally have fridged weather in January and it finally starts warming up some in February, however, in January at one point we were in the 50's, though it did cool down significantly by the end of the month.  Now we are in absolutely fridged temps for us an it is wearing quite thin.

I just realized how much you've lost so far.  You've done great, I bet your so happy.  How are things going since your surgery?
