Sacales, scales, scales

Ok, so once you hit a certain weight, the scales begin to abandon you for lighter loads. Unfortunately, I have hit that point so it is hard for me to get an accurate weight.  Anyway, earlier this summer, hubby and I were looking at landscaping rock and I happened upon the scale they use to weigh the rock. It read 373 pounds! I about cried. My all time high without a doubt! Well, 3 weeks ago, I worked the courage to go to my doctor after over 5 years of not. Well, their scale just does not go that high. It is only goes to 350 pounds. How embarrassing to have to weigh on equipment that cannot weigh you in front of what seems to be "EVERYBODY"! So, I talked to one of the nurses and they agreed not to make me weigh in since it would be futile anyway.

In the meantime, I found a scale that goes to 400# they use at the local drug store. I weighed 360! No way! It has to be wrong! It's only been 2 weeks I have been changing my habits on food and exercise! There is no way I could possibly have lost 13# in 2 weeks or is there?

I sent my oldest daughter up with my youngest who had just been weighed at the doctors 2 days before. Not good news. My oldest tells me it weighed my youngest 17# under the doctor's scale. OK so I didn't lose the weight.

Well, I went back and weighed the following Wednesday and it read 355#. Wow! 5# lost but can it be trusted? I sent my oldest in to weigh and lo and behold, it was right on the money! Then today after I took my middle daughter to the doctor for the flu, I took her in and let her weigh on the same scale. Again, right on the money!

So, 2/3 were right unless maybe Casey made a mistake in reading Andrea's and it was indeed right making it 3/3 . I'm taking it. I want the loss and it is encouraging.

So, this is what I KNOW to be right. I have indeed lost 6 1/2 # in the past week. Overall, my loss at this point to my best guesstimate since 1/24/08 is 19 1/2#!

I'll take. I want it. I'm going to keep it and I am on a high like no other!!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!! Best part is, next time you go to the doctor you will be able to get weighed on his scale and have an accurate reading.  I celebrate your loss!

I'd suggest that you go to a physician that specializes in obese patients...he/she is sure to have an accurate scale that goes well above 400lbs.  Bring your home scale with you & after you weigh yourself there, stand on your own scale & weigh yourself.  That way you will be able to see if they match & if not, how much your scale is off. You probably don't even need to make an appointment, I think most docs would let you just come in and weigh yourself. Lisa

hell yeah...you win that! It sure could be possible...and be ready for what may look like a "stall" after such rapid loss. It seems to be both ways in many folks.  it will even out in the end. I am proud of you and glad you feel inspired!

It def feels like a dream and I know stalls happen. My body has to catch up. I also know that this is only because I am so very overweight and I have changed my habits so drastically. My body is just going, "AHHHHHHHHHH!!!!" lol It's cool tho. My oldest (who is also very overweight) keeps yelling at me to, "STOP! You are NOT wearing my clothes!" lmao You jus****ch me! rflmao
