exercise lately?
Well I tend to keep to my bike no matter how late it gets or how tired and stressed I am- it gives me an endorphin boost.
You'll be back walking before you know it.
I've had an interest in finding out about yoga latey. I am wanting something where I focus and consciously move various muscles and breath with purpose (does that breathing bit make sense? I mean I know I always breath with a purpose- ie living... but sort of slow, thinking type breathing?). I have also been considering Thai Chi as I imagine it has similarities to karate only much slower. Probably the best way would be to try out both.

I know - normally I do too. I have not been sleeping on top of it all. The real problem is there is not time, literally. Two things came up in the evening that I could not get out of - the exact time my walks are planned! Weather has been phenomenol, i am chomping to get outside.
I love my yoga and would love to learn more about tai chi. i i have been a gym rat off and on for many years, since age 45, joints are very achy and weights were aggravating that. Yoga (some call it power yoga) is my replacement resistance training.
yoga has been wonderful for my stress management - my job grew this year and I am feeling the burn. This past couple of days i could have walked in the am's instead of yoga, but the stress busting and resistance is what I need more!

Well, I have only worked out twice this week.
BUT, I did have an appointment with a small training facility yesterday. However, it's very expensive! I can't afford it on my own but my parents said they are willing to help they just don't how much it is yet. YIKES! They are very concerned for my health because obesity runs on both sides, along with various types of cancers. They have always helped in that area and never said anything if I failed. My mom says, whatever it takes! I love my parents!!!! Oh, and they are moving ten minutes from me next month to be closer to all us kids and grandkids. I can't tell you how excited I am! I bet my husband is like this - . LOL!
My insurance will pay for the nutritional portion but the physical training portion is the most expensive. Three times a week for an hour for 12 weeks. It truly is one on one, in your face, training.
I would love to do it to get me going and get a good jump start on fitness. The weight loss would be great but I also need to exercise.

Well, I am in Houston, TX. SO, right now, one day it's cold, next day its warm, then back to cold. It's going to rain all weekend. With Spring coming up, more and more showers to be expected.
Eh, it's not too bad here actually. We have a track at work too (would have to do on my lunch break) but I really don't want to smell like a billy goat for the rest of the day and I WILL.
I don't do well walking around the neighborhood, I don't know why and it's a very busy with traffic neighborhood too. I do really well on marked tracks so I know how much distance I am getting. Maybe I should find a good, SAFE one nearby. Still going to bring my 'beat em up stick' and pepper spray though. I live in the burbs but it's still dangerous out there by yourself.
I need to start walking anyway, even if the trainer thing does work out. I am going to find something! I will keep you posted!
I've still been doing my stationary bike religiously:-) I woke up this morning & had a 3 lb weight gain (don't know why, didn't do anything unusual with regards to eating); and was so ticked off, I increased my workout from 30 minutes to 40 minutes...if my body wants to play games with my, fine, I plan on winning!!!
So, decided to up my workout today from 3x30 minutes to 3x40 minutes...that will teach me!

I'm still walking every day for work but I have found a short cut that cuts probably an 1/8 mile out of my daily walking. I haven't made it to Karate since the Monday before last. Traffic has been horrendous on Mondays and Thursdays and even though I leave work at 5 to make my 6:30 appointment I end up not getting home till 7pm and it's not worth it to me to spend 15 mins since the last 15 mins is cool down. Yesterday was V-day so I spent time with the wife. Monday I have a WLS seminar. I can't wait to get back to karate! It's got me feeling really guilty for not going and my body is feeling tight and sluggish. The wife and I plan to go hiking this weekend again so that will give me some exercise but I need the agility that karate gives me.
well, I have been riding my stationary bike as much as possible. I just fit in as much as I can. Somedays I manage 10 minutes, somedays I manage 30 minutes and somedays I manage 30-40 minutes split up into mini sessions. Yesterday I did 30 minutes straight for 4.5 miles and today so far I have 15 minutes for 2.25 miles. I weighed myself today and I have lost 6.5# since last Friday the 8th. I am elated!
