Bloodwork Round 1 Today

I leave within the hour. Fasting since 10pm (well 8pm for me as I went to bed). God I want my coffee! OK, it can wait. I'm hoping that the numbers, particularly PCOS and insulin come back normal. I'm hoping that my switch to Atkins one week previous will prove the saving grace from a lifetime disease diagnosis. I hate having blood drawn--usually bruise and it's painful. And I have to do this again next week. Argh. No working out today for this. Anyway, will report back. FYI, down to 282.

Hey.. Jers.... keep in mind that sometimes it takes more than a week before you see some results in the blood study. An A1c shows what's been going on for the last three MONTHS.. so don't freak at the results yet. I don't know anything about PCOS so I can't comment there. Take the coffee in a travel cup!! As soon as the vampire pulls the needle out.. I hit that coffee so I can see straight to drive home! lol

Next week is my cortisol test where I have to take a steroid the night before. My attendant today did well, just was a pinch. We'll see about the bruising. Argh 4 vials--I had to look away. Such a big baby. After next week, then the following week I go back to the endo to discuss the results, so 2 weeks from now.

One time I was getting blood drawn and was fine, then looked at the vials and got woozy. I can't imagine 11. When all is said and done, I'll go donate because I'm a rare blood type...but just not today ; ). Feeling fine...wanting to workout...but last time I did that when blood was drawn I fainted at the gym and got hell from my trainer.

I do apharesis quite regularly. They suck my blood for almost 2 hours and give my simple carb & high fructose corn syrup snacks in payment for my platelets. At least they give me some of the blood back. It's eerie though.. Cold blooding come back into your system feels quite freaky!

Sorry I'm a little late, I just saw the post. I will be having good vibes for ya, hoping your tests come out great.

I HATE taking blood. I'm one of these that have no veins. I was in the hospital at Thanksgiving time and they wouldn't let me leave til I got blood drawn. I guess I went through the best at Providence with no luck. They said I have no veins, and when they did find one, they said I don't bleed! They were even poking my feet! ha I was miserable trying to get one vial of blood took three hours! They finally got about a fourth of it. UGHHH!! Getting blood done.....I RUN!!
