Finally back to normal!

Good Tuesday Morning, everyone! How did everyone sleep?  I hope everyone is well-rested.  I did a few reps to get my muscles moving with my new resistance bands...the purple one from Gaiam...and I'm feeling all tingly...all over.  I felt I wasn't losing any weight (hit a plateau/stall) and felt I should jumpstart my metabolism again with some sort of resistance training.  My routine was seriously just bike, and doing crunches and leg lifts. WHOOT!  It took a bit of time, but I have my weight back down to 160!  It was only 2-3 pounds off, but it could have just  been water retention, as it had been the TOM. It feels good to have it drop again...I'm very sure that I'm losing inches as well.

I had a couple of WOW moments as well, having tried on size 12's and they FIT!  They were just snug, not tight, and they zipped up.  I am thinking of buying a nice belt to go with them...just in case they start getting loose. My mom wanted me to try on a size 10 pant...they were navy...and I actually got them buttoned.  They were only a bit tight in the belly, as my waist is smaller than my hips...it was a great feeling to know that they fit...but when I tried on another 10 in a different sort of pant...they wouldn't zip up or button at all...but I guess that was just the cut of them.  They fit everywhere else. I also tried on a 12 bathing suit...a sort of tank top and skirt type thing, which was black, and the top was black and white...a very cute thing...but it was $70!  I wish I had that kind of money to spend on a swimsuit. Maybe I'll just wait until the summer to get myself a bikini when I get to my goal weight!  Wouldn't that just be awesome?  I first of all have to shed the pounds and find something to do to tone my muscles...and lose the belly fat. I can't wait till the warmer weather starts so I can go walking again.  I think I lost more weight when I walked during the summer and in the fall than by just biking and strength training. It'll be great to get down to a size 8...in 2008.  Wish me luck!  I'm going to try to eat a lot more veggies and stay away from red meat and only eat lean protein, fish and eliminate sweets altogether. Here's wishing you all a great day and week!  I hope to be able to lose a few more pounds by the end of the month. *crosses her fingers* Take care, and God Bless! ~Barbara~

Congrats on the weight loss!  You have done awesome and I think that size 8 is in your near future.  I just started.  Lost 6 lbs.  Maybe more but I only weigh myself at work twice a week and I have to wait until Friday.  I am new to this board and there are some wonderful people here!

Thank you! I know it will be a challenge, but I'm willing to give up sweets altogether and eat more veggies (good carbs) and lean proteins.  I want to get into jogging this summer as well, so hopefully when the warmer weather hits I can give the marathon training thing a try. Who knows?  Perhaps by my birthday I will be down to a size 8 or even 6?  The thought is overwhelming and unbelievable, but if I work at it I know I can do anything! ~Barbara~
