I am so glad you got the endo consult. My pcp found the steroid induced diabetes, but he was the exception. He has additional training and certification in diabetes.
I see an endocrinologist. He knows more about the interaction of medications. I have hereditary cholesterol problems. Both of my sisters also struggle with this. We got it from our dad's side of the family. The endo told me that he didn't want the cholesterol meds higher because they can raise the glucose levels. I also have hypothyroidism. That happened in college when I was on a diet without exercise.
The things we can learn the hard way! I prefer to learn from friends and education. I never knew how much of a component IR and glucose levels have been with my weight. I wish I knew all of this years ago.
Together we can share information and research and help avoid more problems.
I just wish I could get my husband in to see an endocrinologist. If the body needs a tune-up, then it will work better and respond better to our efforts to get our weight in balance.
Maybe I can use the car tune-up analogy when I talk with hubby more about this.
