I'm new to this exercise thing so here goes: Sunday: 10 minute walk Monday: 10 minute walk Tuesday: none - I felt so dizzy and just plain awful Wednesday: League bowling and 25 minutes stationary bike Thursday: 5 min walk  Today: going to aim for 25 min on the bike especially since I feel bad about not doing more yesterday. Doc asked me to start slow and aim for everyday even if it was only 5-10 minutes. He wants enough to set a habit then start bumping it up. I have missed like 4 days out of 15 total and I do anywhere from 5-25 minutes of exercise time and energy permitting.  My goal is to get to 30-60 minutes 2-3 times a day. I don't know how long it will take me to get there but I am determined to make it happen. Beth

Right on schedule with mine.  Monday was a GREAT workout at karate. We did lots of warm-up exercises and I sparred 3 times. Warm ups consisted of 20 snap kicks/20 stretch kicks each leg, 20 push-ups, 50 crunches, calisthenics to loosen the body, 20 single punches, 20 double punches, 10 triple punches. The last sparring session my arms and legs were so weak I could hardly move. Ended up getting my butt kicked!  I felt fantastic the next day. Last night, thursday, was a light session where we worked on technique. I did 20 snap kicks on each leg, 20 stretch kicks each leg, 50 crunches, 20 push-ups. Then practiced on blocks & counter maneuvers.  Today I feel awake, alive, full of energy and I couldn't eat all of my breakfast. This weekend if it's warm enough the wife and I plan to go to the US National Whitewater center here in Charlotte to do some hiking on their trails.  Check it out: http://www.usnwc.org/Trail-System.html

Ooooooh.. aqua aerobics turns me on!  Wish I had a pool at this house.

My workouts have sucked for 2 weeks.  I'm getting a good sweat going on and have increased my bench weight to about.. hmm.. 3 sets at 135 and 1 set at 190.. so I'm regaining some of the strength, but I think I made a mistake with getting all gung ho about the treadmill and I have to go back to just the lifecycle.

I haven't done much at home at ALL in two weeks.. and this week I only went to the gym twice which is shameful considering I really don't have a life.. no work..  no little kids.. blah blah blah.

I gotta get my ass back in gear.... I really do.

I have been working on the elliptical every evening! Last night I was 22 minutes and it CLAIMED I went 3.36 miles???  I'm working it at the first level as they suggested- until I pick up some. I added a couple more minutes yesterday :)  Only 2 but hey- that's better than I was doing the day before! I noticed my legs were not as sore so something IS working! :)

This is what someone else said about my readouts on the elliptical... so I don't know HOW accurate it is?? "Just an FYI - 2.5 miles in 20 minutes is VERY fast.  And 2 miles in 10 minutes is extremely fast - that'd be 12 MPH!  Is it possible you've got it measuring kilometers and not miles?  My normal pace is around 4 MPH - which at that, it takes 30 minutes to do 2 miles - and that is a very good workout."
What do you all think? I'm not interested in the calories burned or anything like that... but I DO want to know how many minutes as well as MILES. I just don't know where/HOW to figure that out :(

The great thing is... we are ALL using this thing!!! Dh is using it at 6:00 a.m. every morning... I use it at 4:30 p.m. every eve. and our 13 y/o is using it like ALL THE TIME!!  He used it until the readout said he'd gone 10 miles yesterday. (again though... how far DID he really go?? ) Anyhow.... I can't COUNT on it yet BUT......  I got on the scale this a.m. and the scale read.... drum roll please...................  188 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The arc is my enemy! lol. The most I have ever done on that thing is 5 minutes then I died. haha. No I haven't been o nthe arc in a while...I always look at it while I am at the gym and go oh man I should really try to do that everytime I come. Which I believe I am gonna start doing that....but just a couple minutes at a time lol. That thing is EVIL!
