Know first off that I think you are amazing in how hard you work and how much I know you want this. Jerz, you will not want to hear this.  God is my witness, i would say this to my DD if she were pushing herself like this: You are pushing yourself too hard. Have you heard the statement, "Pride goeth before a fall?"  Trying to work this hard against people who weigh 75 plus pounds less than you do? Your heart being that weight works much harder than your competitors if all health issues are equal (by this I mean no one has a known heart condition).  Please reassess this balls to the wall approach you have developed until you are closer to goal weight. I very much worry that you are over training.  I think you may injure yourself and if so, the recovery time will be much longer than when you were 20. I feel you would be truly devastated if this were to happen. Why the sudden change to try for a 4# weekly loss in 8 weeks? Is this the same girl who was preaching to countless people here about losing too fast?

i'm confused.  And concerned. Sorry, know it is not what you want to hear.

I have been keeping up with your blog, Jersey, and you are truly inspirational with your dedication and intensity.  I think you're being way too hard on yourself.  You're giving your all and that should be your ultimate goal.  Don't set yourself up for failure by doubting yourself now.  Just keep up the good work....my knees hurt just reading what you do in a day's workout...LOL.

I agree with everyone else.  Your dedication is truly remarkable.  At the same time I worry also, just like Necee.

You are WAY too hard on yourself.  Yea, half of it could be you pms'ing, but at the same time you are very competitive anyway!  You want the best and work hard at it until you get it.  I know you know it all already, but don't forget that every ones body is different.  Everyones HEALTH is different, and there is probably so many things to take into factor.  One you didn't even mention ages, that might have something to do with it also.  No matter what though, I think you should just concentrate on "yourself" and only "yourself".  Every time you have this competitive streak in you fearing someone is better than you, remember why you are there!  Your there for YOU and only YOU.  The gifts of this contest sounds great, but your health is so much more important.

((((hugs)))))

Yanno, nobody wants to realize that their best just wasn't good enough.  Especially an athlete with PMS! I just hope that this competition doesn't derail your long term goals for weight loss.  This level of diet and exercise is simply not sustainable, so how do you go back to your regular routine and a slower paced weight loss?  I know you have to keep your head in the game for the competition, I just pray that you can do the same for your future program and not lose sight of what comes after. I haven't changed my program much from previous training except for 2 things, 1-I've added spinning on Sunday mornings (for another 800 calories gone) and 2-I've moved from low carb to lower carb with Atkins.  I won't do anything I don't intend or want to do the rest of my life.  Iam giving myself a day of rest (today) each week...and I think I have to let go of teh idea of working out at home.  If my body moves, great.  If not. I tried.

It's been difficult for me to find the right words to say here.  Like you, I am VERY competitive so I can feel what you're feeling right now.  All I can offer is a little wisdom of the "aged". When I was a kid.. I didn't just want to be on the softball team.. I had to bat cleanup.. and I had to play first base or I didn't want to play.  If everyone else got a B on a term paper... I had to have the A or I would just toss the paper instead of bringing it home... and all I spent my childhood doing was setting myself up to fail as an adult.  Selling 20 lines wasn't good enough when I heard that someone else sold 30.. and I'd bang my head against the wall trying to get that other 10 lines!  Eventually .. we burn out!  If I couldn't have the 30, I didn't want ANY . We have limitations for a reason, and if we don't respect them.. chances are we'll never even TRY to live up to our potential.  What's going to happen if you keep this up and get injured in the process... you LOSE.  What's going to happen if you don't accept your BEST as a major contribution to the team.... you'll quit!  I'm not telling you to set your sights lower.. by no means.. what I am saying is to ACCEPT that you are giving it your all and be PROUD of the fact that you have the strength of character to do so!  You're not a slacker.. if you were a slacker I'd say.. "Well, Jers.. I get it.. just try harder", but you're not!   There's always someone out there who's faster, stronger, prettier, richer, thinner.  There's always someone else who has better hair, a nicer car, a cuter boyfriend.. but this isn't your concern.  Your concern is to be certain that you are only competing with yourself.. to be the best you that you can be..................NOT be someone else.  You probably have no clue that there are many people looking at what you do saying to themselves "I wish I could do THAT".  :)
