Anybody ever call off surgery almost at the last minute?
More so on the LB board, you will see folks who have beat that metabolism rap: several are eating "normal" amounts of foods (more than 1200 calories daily). Guess which bunch? The ones who continued to exercise and choosebetter quality foods more often!
WLS years out does not HAVE to mean eating 900 caloires the rest of your born days. It will if you don't get up off your butt and go for it, even moderately.
I was tempted all along to cancel my operation.. i had a 3 - 4 month wait after i booked it. And like some others i thought that doing it with a trainer or gym and nutritionist would work for me, well i gave the trainer a go for 2 years, and the nutritionist for alot of that time. I worked so hard at times that i threw up in the gym, i also played soccer, touch rugby and had a 2nd trainer doing other things aswell. So you could say i really went for it.
The result of this was a bill almost big enough to pay for the operation and a grand total of about 10 kg lost. ( needed to drop about 50 kg ). In the end i told my trainer what i was planning to do, and he was very interested in the op, he pretty much admitted that i worked hard and he was surprised that i didnt have more success. I'll be going back to see him once im allowed to, to help drop weight and tighten up..
Previous to all of this i did the reductil and xenical drugs, both at the same time, and i did drop 40kg, unfortunately 30 kg came back once i went off the drugs
Best of luck with your decision. If you havent tried the diet/exercise combo then if your body and mind is up to it, try it, having failed at that i knew that in the end an operation to help control intake was the last option.

Yup. mr. haboobi! I feel ya. It is scary how little food my body needs, and I have never, ever run from exercise.
I have come to realize that some of us are resistant to weight loss, insulin, hormones, whatevah.
i get why you did what you did. My body was - no, IS the same way. I have to starve AND work out hard. I was such a hard sell on this, too. Thought I could work hard enough, eat right and bam....swallowed the bitter pill finally that low calories are the key...and how easy is that long term.
Best of luck.
