Yesterday was "D" day!
Alrighty then... I saw my doc yesterday for the first time in 6 months and it was great to get such kudos from him after YEARS of him shaking his head at me.
We got down to the "meds" portion of the visit. He asked "how much Novolog and Lantus are you up to a day". I laughed and said "I haven't taken any insulin since October 1". He started fumbling through the papers and I blurted in "6.7... my a1c was 6.7 if that's what you're looking for ".. He said "but when... 6 months ago.." "NO", I said and explained that his nurse sent me the blood study order and I had it done in SC about a week and a half ago.
He questioned me in detail about how I've lost so much weight in such a short period of time and I explained that I felt it made no sense for someone who's insulin resistent to be taking so much insulin, so I stopped taking it and by the same token, stopped eating anything which would cause an insulin response... even though it's supposedly "good" for me...and I melted!
The exercise is really helping my lungs I think cause he said they sound better. Ok, so my bp was 162/82 in triage.. so he checked it again and it was 140/80 which is REALLY weird for me... but I'm chalking it up to listening to Bowie on the IPOD in the waitiing room.. yanno Bowie gets the blood pumpin'.
Ok then.. tiime to pack up the laptop and get out of this hotel and head back to my heaven in the woods!
