How good is it really as a meal replacement?

I hate meal replacements though. Nonetheless, slim fast does taste good.  My problem with it is it doesn't make you feel full like it says it does. I drink it.. 20 minutes later I'm looking for bacon and eggs.

As good as it may satisfy you. I once did a comparison slide of an 8 ounce glass of milk compared to that same glass with the old Slimfast powder mixed in.  Hmmmm, the old Slimfast did not add much more nutrition than the the milk had by itself. I am told that the new version, ready to drink has more protein and calcium and does help manage hunger. It is too little for me to get by on (except maybe for a breakfast meal replacement, not hungry then anyway) However, i have a friend in her 70's who used it for 30 years, basically to keep her weight all her life within 15# of her high school weight. Won't hurt you, so go for it.

It has a lot of sugar in it.  I'm with Chris on this one.  I tried it for breakfast one day and about 20 minutes later I felt like my stomach was eating itself from the inside out. LOL I do a lot better with eggs and turkey bacon for breakfast, sometimes weight control oatmeal.  I find that I don't get hungry for lunch until at least 1 p.m. and I eat around 6.  For lunch I do more protein, turkey and cheese roll ups dipped in mustard.  Dinner same kind of thing, protein and vegetables. Between meals a cheese stick, piece of fruit, cereal bar, etc. works well.  As far as using the Slim Fast, I sometimes drink it between lunch and dinner if I want something, but definitely not as a meal replacement. Good luck!

When they first came out with the lo-carb shakes, I basically lived off them (then they changed the recipe and you can't pay me to drink one!).  But, I've found that even with the lo-carb, hi-protein thing, they're still too many calories for a drink that really doesn't fill you up for long.   I think they're okay if your really gonna use them to replace a meal...if you find that you're too hungry to wait another 3hrs before eating again, I'd go for another brand that offered more bang for the buck.  I drink Syntrax Nectars for breakfast (90cals 0g carbs 23g protein) that way if I am a bit hungry, I can eat something else without going overboard calorie-wise. You can also try those Lean Cuisine meals...they have lo-carb options and some of them have about as many cals as a Slim-Fast drink!  Replace a meal with a meal (albeit a little one ;)!!
