Anyone have a pedometer?

I have been wanting to get me one for years, but it's just something that always seems to get pushed to the side priority wise.  Whenever I look at them they always look so skimpy and look like they are going to break fast.  I want a nice one, one that will last and actually work!  Any recommendations?

Another job interview in about an hour.  I've only had two interviews and already getting tired of looking.  Between helping my son get financially ready for college, my daughters prom this weekend, other two kids issues, being a taxi, a husband to cater too, and a household to run I'm getting stressed looking for a job.  I need more "me" time.  I've seriously been thinking about getting a hotel just for myself for a few days.  My husband keeps telling me I need to work to get away from it all.hehe  Little does he realize that it all will still follow me, he's lucky it doesn't follow him! :)

I have one and I love it.  I have an Omron that I bought last year for about 40 bucks.  It's phenominal.  They probably have new ones now but this is the one I have: http://www.amazon.com/Omron-HJ-112-Digital-Premium-Pedometer/dp/B0000U1OCI if you can't click that then try this one: http://tinyurl.com/3ygnad

I have the same one with the computer interface and software so I can keep track of it all on the computer easily. I really like it.  If you won't hook it up to a computer, the one that Chris recommended is great.  Especially at $20.  http://www.amazon.com/Omron-HJ-720ITC-Pedometer-Advanced-Management/dp/B000MN92WM/ref=pd_sim_hpc_img_4 I've used it every day for the last month.  tom

You know what. The one you have is the same one I have. I must've copied the wrong link when I posted.  Mine has the computer software with it too. It's neat because you can graph out your progress over the years. Keeps track of how many miles you walked, calories burned etc. It's awesome.

I just read where you put that it has the computer software with it. I didn't know that they had one where you could graph out your progress over the computer. That is awesome. The things you are able to do these days!!

I bought one at walmart one of the cheap ones..because instead of buying a good one and saving the money for a good one i just bought a cheap 5 dollar one i believe it was..and its really little i dont know how accurate it is though..but i really like it..to some extent i believe you pay for what you get..i really like the one that Chris gave you a link too..at amazon..i think i may look into that one myself!!

Is it one of the little colored plastic ones? They click when you walk?  I bought one of those before I bought the Omron.  The thing was so inaccurate and I hated the damned clicking noise. I definitely recommend getting the Omron. Either the one linked or the one Tom linked. (I have the one he linked) It is about 50x better than that 5 dollar one.  You will love yourself for it. The battery is dead in mine. I haven't used it in like 6 months though.  Gotta go get me another battery!

Yes it is one of the colored plastic ones..and yes they click when you walk which is really annoying because when it clicks its not very quiet so you can hear it and people you walk past can hear it. I wore mine I think for just one day to work because at the time I worked in the office and the clicking noise was plain as day!  I really liked the Omron that you gave a link too..i couldnt get the other link to work lastnight so I will have to try again to take a look at that one.

Here's a smaller link to the one that has the computer software with it. This is exact one I bought. In fact, I bought it from amazon.com. Same one Tom has as well. http://tinyurl.com/ywwmuu

I have had many cheap-o ones.  Not good. When I last tracked my steps per day, I counted how many steps I do per minute (130) and mulitplied it by the number of minutes walked.  The goal of 10K was rather arbitrary, but supposedly equivalant to 5 miles. In other words, I would need to walk 76 minutes to get to 10K steps.  I typically walk 45-70 minutes in the mornings, so I am close. I know I cover more later on.  I also paced myself when walking with grandkids..more like 100 steps per minute. So, not an exact science, but I get a general idea.
