Fat TV alert tonight...A&E "Intervention"
Intervention is a documentary-style show on A&E about addiction. It features mostly drug & alcohol addicts but has also had anorexics, bulimics, shopping and gambling addicts, etc. To my knowledge they have never had a "food addict" episode, something I always thought was really lacking.
Tonight's episode (9 p.m.) where I am features a food addict for half of it and I predict it will be a little tough to watch, but I will definitely be tuning in. You can preview it here if you're interested.
i am TOTALLY addicted to intervention as well. i think it is generally well done, not too sensationalistic. doesn't romanticize the horridness of addiction. and doesn't exploit people in the way that shows like brookhaven does.
this poor kid josh! what a horrible father.
i want it to be at the end to see where they send him. hopefully not brookhaven or rice diet.
I normally don'****ch intervention, but when I saw the commercial for the episode with Josh I just had to tune in. Oh goodness, seeing how his dad acted reminded me so much of my childhood. I felt such empathy for Josh and was so glad he did agree to go into treatment. I was glad they gave a mini update at the end showing he was progressing.
As for his dad, it was good to hear him acknowledge to his son that he hasn't been a good dad. I do hope with treatment, his abusive behavior toward his family will change.
