Fat is a vital nutrient! My weight problem could be related to the Low Fat Revolution - I ate all day long when I ate very low fat. Could not get full. Again, Drs like Edell and Pritikin and the AMA who push the low fat diets are NOT exactly dumasses - it has been proven to reverse heart disease. If this shoe fits, wear it by all means.
Fat helps give us satiety, ya know, helps us feel full longer. Fat is vital for many nutrients become assimilated - otherwise, eating them might be a near waste of effort.
I aim for a moderate amount - 35% or so. Better quality fats, not more than 10-15% saturated (animal sources usually)
I think eating more fat and better grains just helps your body manage cellular water levels!
