I ordered a new elliptical cross trainer!!!
It won't get here for a couple (or few?) weeks yet but I can't tell you how happy I am!!! It's sorta spendy for me right now- but I really did some research on it and out of all the lower priced ellipticals... it had GREAT reviews! You can see it below at the wal-mart site- but I didn't get it there :) Took WAYYYY TOOO long to get it from them :(

Anyhow- I'm excited! I decided to just throw it on my own little CC... one I keep for just ME. I will pay half now and half when I get paid next month :)
Can't wait to get it!!!!

Good for you!!! I've never tried one of those, but they're supposed to be the best choice of the exercise machines...one I don't have! LOL Those are the kind of rewards we need to give ourselves as we proceed on this journey of weight loss. Nothing like indulging yourself once in a while. Bet you'll really see a difference.
You go girl!!!
That's great! I have also gotten the idea that ellipticals burn the calories quickly! I wish to god I could use them. I swear I can't do more than 5 minutes on them before my legs try to give out. I have no idea what it is -- maybe I'm weird!
I got all excited about getting our new bowflex treadmill so I understand the excitement part -- now you just have to do the hard part to watch the weight melt away!
The arc and ellipticals are hard. When I started on the arc, 2 minutes killed me. Now I can do an hour. Your body adjusts. You just have to tell yourself today I'll do one minute more than last time, etc. The key to getting the most out of them for caloric burn is speed. A lot of people move way too slow on them to get the full benefit.
Maybe I'm a tard, but what is an arc?
I was wondering if I was just doing the elliptical wrong because so many people just love it and can do it right away. I don't even think my leg muscles are all THAT weak....I just don't know why I've always had such a problem with it. My legs would just get this BURN in them and I would push myself so far and just couldn't go any more
Ellipticals started it, just the next movement, a bit better on the body and in results:
http://www.cybexintl.com/Products/displayproduct.aspx?id=620 A If you carry a lot of weight, it's hard at first, but your body does adapt. I have taught friends at the gym to use it, and even at a low weight like 140-170, they find it challenging too. But you can't beat burning 1000-1400 calories an hour.
I haven't experienced a burn, just exhaustion in my legs, but regardless, you get the most out of your workout when you push through where you think you can't do anymore. It's all in your head.
i just brought home an elliptical my sister gave me this weekend. i haven't had a chance to try it out yet tho. on the way home, we had a truck load of furniture given to me by my grandmother.........we looked like the Beverly Hillbillies we had so much junk strapped on to our truck lol. we stopped at a gas station to check the load cause something was rattling around and i fell and twisted my ankle so, i've been giving it a few days to recover and get well before i try out the elliptical. i'm excited about it as well. i'm hoping i just LOVE it.
