Down 67 lbs!

My entire story is on my profile, though now that I think about it, I started at 233 in May instead of 231.  Not that much difference, but I actualy still think I was 240 before I started counting points.  I don't have a membership to WW, but I've followed a bit of a plan.  My cousin and my aunt are on WW, but I have never joined myself.

What motivated me to start was just a negative body image and the motivation to lose weight in order to feel healthier and happier about myself.  I really and truly think that if you put your mind to something you can achieve your goal. I have been good MOST of the time, but sometimes fast food is tempting and I do eat it, but in moderation and only when it is made a bit more healthier than normal.  I've been roughly the same weight for two weeks now, and the loss has been gradual since I stopped biking every day.  I am going to start tomorrow evening.  I used to walk every day and bike twice a day, wanting to lose steadily but not too quickly.  The summer months were spent outdoors and not eating much.  I put myself on 26 points (1300 calories according to my friend's calculations) at the start and now I'm down to 22. At 166 lbs today, I feel so much better and I want to try something a bit different, or if anyone has any tips for me regarding the type of foods to eat and how to avoid too many carbs.  I find myself eating the WW wraps and bread a lot, both whole wheat, along with peanut butter in the morning, and I try to spread out my meals.  I eat a minimal amount of meat, but I love seafood and spinach salad with balsamic dressing. I am OBSESSED with weighing myself...I do so maybe 10-15 times a day, noticing that it's much less in the morning and just before I go to bed at night.  Should I weigh myself less? Thank you for your time to listen to my sort-of-rant, and I thank you in advance for any comments or tips.  They are and will be greatly appreciated.

Wow!  You are doing fantastic! I will read your profile in a minute here. WW was the first time that I put into practice two things: eating regularly and in balance.   Before that I would do like so many of us do and if I had a party or out to dinner that night....i would starve all day til i got there.  No more! I now feel strongly about pacing my food. Now, i may cut back in anticipation of an event, but never starve (unless way busy).   The balance part is mainly about making sure i have most food groups for each day. I am still amazed when i realize my hunger is (most days) at a minimum, especially when i make sure to eat leafy greens and just more veggies in general! I feel bad I did not give my body what it craved! No wonder I binged. Your weighing concern does not seem like a problem... 'kay, 15x daily is a BIT excessive, LOL.  I hate it when I flip out about it. If it upsets you, well, yeah, come off it a bit. If not, lots of peeps believe in keeping a finger on the pulse and checking it daily. Like it or not, that number does matter.  A lower number may be part of the goal, but it is not everything, to be sure. Many, many other benefits, right???? You are close to maintenance, so you may not need to cut back on carbs, which btw, you mean grains really, don't you, since veggies & fruits are carbs? Many of us will always have to watch them, portions, especially and try for higher quality grains (whole grains, more fiber). Past that, you got it goin ON, girlie! All i can add is, when the chips are down, use veggies - zero points, always, no matter what you eat all day, you can fill up on those. Good job!  What an inspirational post. Thanks!

Wow! You are doing SO WELL! Congrats!!!! I thought I was obsessed LOL Some days I step on that scale three times :)    I say- whatever WORKS. If that keeps you in check- go for it!   If it causes a big emo thing... I'd say STOP. Go to once each morning or once each WEEK in the morning.  If it were ME... I'd beat myself up to much over a gain during the day. At any rate... you are doing GREAT! Keep up whatever you are doing that is making it WORK!!

Thank you all so much! Now, it's 70 lbs...and I'm so happy about it.  It's so amazing to think that I was probably sitting at my computer desk eating an entire box, or maybe only half a box of Pringles and drinking a diet coke...at this time of night. To think I've come this far in just seven months, it's mind-boggling.  I hope that ALL of you who have had surgery, are considering surgery and who think that they can do it without surgery...to just try to stay motivated.  It is HARD at first, but you get into a routine...and it just becomes a lifestyle. Keep smiling. ^_^
