how's the weekend going?

I am doing good, despite a mild sinus infection -if I am lucky, it's on its way out. Just waking up headachy, and full of well you know what sinus infection slag looks like! i do not think i have a fever, so that's good. Just running at 75% power. Friday, only about a half hour of yoga, ball work. Saturday, and 1.5 hour's walk/bike ride (got a flat and walked back 2 miles) Sunday:  leaving for a big bike ride.  Weather is great - chilly, but clear! Like yesterday. Eats:  except for DH and I diving into a loaf of whole grain bread that we have toasted and eaten for breakfast both days and snacks last night, I am doing above average. No sweets, little booze, just that bread is my only challenge. Veggies:  excellent level. The past week, i rate my weight loss efforts to be above average.  i did not work out a lot, but nor did i eat much. When I did eat, high levels of phytochemicals, fiber, good fats.

The fat boosts my losses too..  I'll fry an egg in coconut oil or be sure to baste a piece of chicken with some real butter to get it.   One time I was desperate and swallowed a tablespoon of flax seed oil... YUUUUUUUUUUUUCK~!

Yeah, fat definitely helps weight loss.  Don't know why the rest of the world focuses no low fat except thinking to "cut excess calories", but fat, IMO, is ESSENTIAL to weight loss.

Fat helps the poop come out! Dats why it promotes weight loss!

Shari, where do you get your jerky?  I want to start eating that (high protein snack) but have no idea where to shop for it.

Trader Joe's makes the best I've had. Have one of those up there?

Shari, I was going to post something last week and ask if anyone else thought that when you eat a little more fat you lose.  I'm not sure if it's because it's kind of hard on your stomach and it makes you go to the bathroom more or what.  What good would that Alli pill do for people if this is the case? Despite the way it seems, fat is actually a *binding* force in the colon.  Fat actually bonds with calcium in the gut and helps carry it out relatively undigested (remember the Swedish study?) which can lead to weight loss.  Alli™ attempts to do the same thing, and pushes fat through relatively undigested as well-- which is why Alli really physically accomplishes little unless you have a good amount of fat in your diet...what it does do is make you want eat less fat in the first place to avoid the greasy "treatment effects" (a/k/a an oil slick in your toilet.) You eat less fat, you lose weight.
