Magical Spaghetti
I have that same thing.. the whole buying new toys for myself. I think it's an emotional response...similar to how food gives me satisfaction, having a new toy does as well. My only problem is that the toys I want always cost me an arm and a leg! New truck..... remote start for the truck... lift kit and tires... new hitch.. stereo system for the truck.. for example.. Lately it's all been revolving around my truck lol.
Yeps, I hear ya! I go in spurts on what I want. I'm an "avid" shopper, but usually just window shopping. Ya know, typical girly thing. But when I go for something, I have to have the BEST and won't settle for anything but the best. I will research, and research, and wait until I get exactly what I want. I remember when I was pregnant it took me five months to find the "perfect" stroller and car seat for my expectations. My last binge was probably my family room that I turned into a gym. I'm still paying on that one. I had a treadmill already that I loved, but then I bought a nice recumbent bike for $800 or so, and a $1,8000 dollar bow flex. That so far only that cat uses it to sit on! We're getting taxes soon and my brains already going in full speed. Deciding between vacations, bills, diet dr or trainer, or car starters for both of us! I have to admit, I haven't included dh on this. Thought about writing it all on a list and showing it too him...like, which one should we do!hehe He thinks I'm high maintenance but I'm really not. I just WISH for the stars!!haha
You have described me to a T! I'm the exact same way! It has to be the utmost best of whatever it is and it has to be the best deal. I cannot stand to buy something and then turn around a week later and learn that I made a bad decision because it was cheaper elsewhere or there was a better product. I even bought gym equipment like you did. The cats used it more than myself as well! Ended up selling it for 1/2 what I paid for it. Lesson learned though.
I've gotten quite good about tax money (and my bonuses for that matter). I use them to pay off my credit card bills each year. This year... I plan to pay them all off and not charge them up again! I'll lock them up and give the wife the key. That way, next year.. the income tax can go towards paying off my car, truck and other personal loans. There's no reason I should be financing anything. I figure if I can get everything paid off in the next 2 years then I'll have gobs and gobs of money to buy whatever my little heart desires.. (big heart if I get to exercising more! heheh)
very very funny Chris...
I have a WW scale that I got at Target. It supports up to 400 lbs and has a nice large base so it is comfy... also the numbers are far enough ahead of me that I can see them past my belly!
As for the broken scale I suggest 2 choices.... keep it next to the new scale as a reminder to NOT behave so badly.... or take it out back and shoot it as therapy....
as for the sketti... consider the healthy harvest noodles and turkey instead of beef.... would turn it into a really quality meal (leave the buns alone!)
What I've eaten is here for the world to see
336.1 (8-1-07)/319.0 (12-28-07)/200 (goal for 12-31-08)/160 (goal)
Next mini goal is 290 by 1-31-08

Turkey is usually the meat of choice but we were out. I've been trying to get her to buy the wheat noodles or something a little more healthy but she just likes the white pasta.. bah! I'll just go get it myself! :P And I can have the buns as long as they're whole grain and I leave the butter off! hehe
I LOVE my Tanita scale that I got at Bed, Bath and Beyond. (You can look them up online at their site to see what kinds they have. They also have WW scales).
The one I have measures your fat and water, as well as your weight. You can set it for 2 different people to use. It is pretty accurate to my doctor's scale, too.
I think it costs about $50, but I used my credit card Rewards Points to get it free!
I highly recommend it!

LOL That is a funny story :) I always feel a little safer where I live- on an island in Alaska with a population of like 3 thousand :) Now I'm content that my scale is as safe as I am :) (but for MY OWN self:)
I am thinking about getting a new scale as well- I want one that shows if I have lost/gained .5 pounds etc. Right now the one I have shows only whole pounds.
Does anyone know... if you get a scale with all the bells and whistles... showing BMI, water content etc..... if I weigh in today on it... tomorrow my neighbor weighs on it.... will SHE see MY info??? How does that work? Cause some of them you have to program in I have read?
