bariatric foods...

Necee brought up some things in my last post regarding bariatric foods.  I personally love them, always have.  They usually do wonders for me.  They are not "real" foods, so I've been trying to avoid them.  But after reading some I'm realizing that it's really not a bad thing to have to have some of these foods every day, or a protein shake, or bar.  I just personally don't want to eat them ALL day long.  This causes me to binge VERY badly, but I would like to see if I can do it with eating a regular meal at night.  Sort of what the doc put me on before, I just ate tv dinners for my meals besides the bariatric foods.  I really would like to keep whole foods in my diet also .

Anyway, does anyone of you know of any kind out there that you can buy in the stores or online other than medifast?  It's something I'm really interested in.  Only thing I can find is the protein drinks and bars galore in the store.

do you have a Costco?  I buy the choco or vanilla Wellements there...7$ bag for 30#, lasts a long time.  I typically do a half scoop at a time.  Very low carbs, whey protein, slow release. That is the best bargain. I also cruise GNC and get this one unflavored soy protein powder. Great to add to "real food" to boost the protein.  It will thicken it, though, so add water or broth. I agree that the bariatric angle is good when folks are on the run.  If one is at home all day long, there is not much excuse to avaid "real food" - just more planning to have the better food in the house!

The convenience is what saves me.  Being hungry with no good choices around is a disaster.

There are alot of these products online, I found one called Focus28, it a web site that sells the products. Try googling"bariatric foods" and you will find more than just nutrisystem.
