I received this email from a site that I recently visited called "Shrink Yourself". I think it has some pretty good points for us to consider for weight loss success.

Figure out what you're really craving in your life and go after it. Take small steps towards achieving your dreams and goals.
Change Your Story
Change how you speak about eating well and exercising. If you think of them as deprivation and obligation, you'll resent them. Reframe things and view healthy choices as way to be kind to yourself.
Plan Ahead & Then Take An Action Even When You Don't Feel Like It
Set yourself up to win. Don't wait until you feel like exercising or eating right. Schedule things in when you know you can actually get them done. For instance, make a date to walk with a friend instead of catching up on the phone.
Feelings Aren't Facts
Practice observing feelings instead of acting on them. Most feelings will pass naturally.
This is a New Year. It's okay to want this year to be the year that you lose the weight but set yourself up to win by approaching things in a new way by being a new you. Then, and only then, can it be a New Year, the year where you finally achieve your goals.
