What does the "ignore" button do?

i think it bocks both ways so if someone blocks you or you block someone else, you cannot see the threads they start or their posts. since you don't see them, you can't reply to them. but it will only apply when you are logged in. for example, it appears that jersey has put me on ignore, so i don't see the threads she starts or her replies to others. but since i generally check the board when i'm bored at work where i don't sign in, i see them anyway. it is kind of annoying cause i was looking for that thread about butternut squash recipes and couldn't find it - so it doesn't tell you that you arebeing ignored, but its not hard to figure out. this is what i assume is going on as i don't have anyone blocked on my list...

There you are! I knew you were around here somewhere!! I looked for that thread on the squash and couldn't find anything either..  Of course i'm not sure I know which one you're talking about... I do recall a post about spaghetti squash though. Link is below.  But the post insinuates that there was a previous post..? http://www.obesityhelp.com/forums/non_postops/a,messageboard/action,replies/board_id,5493/cat_id,5093/topic_id,3485344/

WOWZIE WOW WOW! That was quite the question I guess!!! :)   WOW! What a little question can bring on... I do thank you all for the answer though :) I have often wondered about this and can now use it if/when appropriate! I sure never thought it would generate 40 replies LOL Thanks again!
