No debate here, Kris. You have the absolute right to mangle your guts to "look pretty" if you want, as long as you can accept death, anastmosis, constant pain, expensive surgical debulking and the potential for lifelong health issues as potential consequences. More like- "This board is full of non-ops, and I am having surgery so I'm kinda stupid to be sittin' here taking up their space..." But I hear ya! Occasionally people on the RNY board gimme the same kinda creeps-- when they refer to themselves at "fat pigs" or are very young, or think that being pretty is worth tremendous cost and risk. I'm just not wired that way. I don't understand that sort of mindset, but I see it everywhere.

Thanks, Kris. I didn't say I didn't enjoy looking good-- I said *I* wasn't going to pay to have my guts rerouted to do so...or so other people would find me attractive. The risks are too great. (And incidentally-- I'm lucky--I looked good the majority of my pre-op life as well (my biggest day happened to also be when I was ill, thus the craptastic photo.) I don't find fat "ugly." Sorry.)

I'm fine with disagreeing, but I have said my peace with temperance and it still gets taken as if I'm on the attack. That's just not me. I put the info out there for others to digest. I said it on my blog--I've been through so much that I see others going through here. I wish I had met the people I have who taught me the truth earlier so that I could have saved myself a lot of grief.

With weight I suffered depression, social outcasting, misperceptions, and limited my social avenues and opportunities. You can bet I wish I had heard this from someone when I was as young as Christa is. BTW Christa, when I did a pill like that, my good BP rose sharply and my doc pulled me off it immediately. You can understand my concern.

I understand your concern. Which I know that is why Chris was pulled off the same meds that I have because his BP sky rocketed! I am aware of it all. I never really feel super energentic like you would on speed. I feel like my normal self, there times where I feel a little high but it fades. I think that happens right at the moment when the capsule decides to release a bit.
