What does the "ignore" button do?

If I was to hit "ignore"- does this cause (those ignored) posts to NOT SHOW for me? Does it not allow a post on my own threads- from those I ignore? Does it show the person(s) I "ignore" that I AM ignoring them?    Please explain what exactly this does.  Some days I find it more stressful coming here than what I want to face and I don't want to stop coming... I love it here- i just want to alleviate the anxiety that is involved at times. Thank you!

" Add members to your block list if you no longer want to see their posts or personal messages. You can block members from your personal message area or from a message board, or, if you know their username, you can block them here:" Click the block button below the post of the person you want to block. It should block private messages and forum posts from them.

No problem.  I'm not sticking around.  I need to be with likeminded-healthminded folks.  Sorry to have been a problem.

I remember when Shari said that exact same thing. We all grew to love Shari.  I'm sure the same will happen with you.  Don't go. Your input is valued and always reminds us that exercise and eating healthily is key!  People are always gonna disagree. It's what makes the world go round.  Don't ever give up though.  You may not reach everything but I bet you there is someone here on this board who can do the things you do and you will inspire them. To quote a country song, "You got to stand for something or you fall for anything!" EDIT: (Ahhh remembering the heated debates with Shari about having WLS for beauty or emotional  reasons! That thread was like 10 pages deep on more than one occasion!  In fact, If I recall Christa and I both were quite involved in that debate.. Both of using feeling that losing weight or getting WLS  for beauty's sake wasn't vain and was a good reason to do so!   Remember that Christa?)

WL or in that case  WLS for vanity? OK by me.  Why?  Self esteem and social position.  Obesity can steal both, beauty can open avenues.  (THough, of course I will comment on the price of WLS on the body--it's very harsh to the body, that's all I'll say). FWIW, in the 30 plus pounds I've lost, this weekend I had an interesting experience.  One day, it was like I wa**** with a flirt stick--every man I encountered flirted with me.  It was odd, surprising, unsettling, but appreciated. I even got stuff out of that day just because "you're so pretty".  Well, I haven't heard that in a long while, I missed being called beautiful.  You bet I liked it. You bet part of my reason for WL is vanity.  I want men to see me and to find Mr Right and have a family.  I'm just greasin' the wheels by being my best self.

I agree with you. I'm not saying anything further because I sure don't want to open up that can of worms again! It took weeks before that one died down! hahaha Congrats on the flirts! It sure does make a person feel good when others notice them. Same goes for us guys too. It's nice to be wanted.
