Then they don't want good health and healthy, lasting weight loss or their priorities are misplaced or lives are unmanageable.  Who can't find an hour a day?  I call BS. I'm busy.  I get up at 4am to get to the gym and am on the road all day and only home long enough to do an hour of chores and go to bed for a full night's sleep.  I could prioritize having more free time, but I'd rather be healthy.

Ok so to all of you who have kids, two jobs, full time jobs and school and maybe some kids who knows sorry but all of you don't want good health sorry to let you know. Because all of you have no time to get to the gym to work out because they are closed when you wake up in the morning and ae closed by the time you make it home.....oh and if you dont get home until maybe 10 pm you should still spend an hour on like a work out DVD instead of going to bed because if you don't you don't care about your health even if you do have to get up extra early in the morning.....hmmm Some people really can't find an hour a day. I mean I know I can easily right now. But my plan right now is going to the gym 3 days a week for a half an hour those days. But as soon as school starts up which will be when all my friends are out of school and is starting to go into summer. I will be working anywhere to 40-50 hour weeks going to school for 20 hours every week, and making time to hang out with my friends and my boyfriend...because I am 21 and I will not waste my life away trying to fight thru all of that to exercise...3 days a week half an hour. Maybe a walk too here and there.

Who says it has to be done in a gym?  Who says you can't have a ton on your plate and not do it?  People do it all the time, others make excuses.  I know many in the gym, one with 3 kids who prioritize the cost of the gym membership over say cable tv at home.  And they do it with their kids or in the free moment they find.  I know many who work 50, 60, 80, 100 hours a week and still do it.  Like I said, my plate is full and I manage.

So IYO mine would be an excuse right? Only being able to put in 3 days a half an hour those days and a walk here and there because at that time in my life I have so much on my plate that is all I can fit in? Because right now...I could fit in an hour or even 2 hours 7 days a week to working out. I don't because that is insane to me I am not going to do something that I don't plan on doing something for the rest of my life. Currently I am only doing like 20 minutes 4-5 days a week on my Turbo Jam DVD or Biggest Loser sample DVD....seems to be working fantastic to me. But now I am upping the anti for myself now that I am comfortable doing what I am doing I am pushing to go to the gym but not over do it or else...well I will quit like Chris said a 1000 posts back over do it you'll quit.  As for you....your plate doesn't seem to be overly full. As in other peoples. You get up at 4am or whenever because your gym is open early enough to get there..then what you work...you don't have any kids....no husband to give attention to....you have time in that plate of yours.

Yes.  I do think it is.  You prove it by calling exercise insane.  I don't negate that you're losing weight.  I don't believe it will be sustainable weight loss, I'm sorry to say, because of the choices you've shared.

My plate isn't full?  I work 50-90 hours a week, travel and commute 4 hours a day,but that's nothing?  LOL.  And I have responsibilities you know nothing about.  I have one hour a day to myself and sleep.  That's all I have.

True, you shouldn't overdo it, but how is an hour commitment to your health overdoing it?

No I didn't say exercise in general was insane. The point of doing it 6 days a week for an hour those days is insane. Because yes I exercise and I am going to gym after I leave work today to exercise. I used to go 6 days a week last year wait in 2006 since we're now in 2008. I over did it...just stopped going. 6 days was insanity.  6 days was over doing it. And you don't have to believe my weight loss is sustainable. Guess we'll just have to see about that one huh? Hmm because you know when I hit my goal I am just gonna stop everything I have been doing to get there. Pfft. I will still keep working to maintain it.

You may achieve your goal.  I hope it's sustainable.

An hour a day is what will achieve weight loss.  A half hour will have a modified benefit.  Though  the government has flipflopped on it (from 30 minutes a day to an hour a day), most believe daily exercise offers the greatest benefit.  It doesn't have to be an hour with the same video tape.  It can be a variety of classes, a hike with your dog or friends, biking, etc.  It's not about 'the gym'.  And most things are doable with a family, in fact family should be incorporated to help them also live a healthy lifestyle.

BTW, it's not that I don't support you.  I do, I just want to see you healthy.  Your choices don't seem to support that same desire.

There are 168 hours in a week.  Assuming you work 5days a week, for 70 hours total.... on a typical work day you would work for 14 hours, work out for 1, commute for 4.. that is a total of 19 hours... this leaves you with 5 hours of sleep....
What I've eaten is here for the world to see
