Ok.. so this is the deal.  I'm telling all of you all of this so it sets it in concrete in my mind. In the month of December I lost about 12 lbs total, but 9 of them came off in the 8 days I was away.  I have no clue why.  It might have been the cccccccoooold in Iowa making my furnace rev hotter.  Ok.. so..  I was at 253 just before I left, got back around the 15th at 244.. went down to 238 and now.. I'm up to 240 again.   I know, I know.. "patience is a virtue" (but not one of mine).   So.. here's the plan: Today I've begun a meat and egg fast to kick this weight loss back into gear. Also, I just about blew a knee, so I've been skimping on my cardio.. but today I'm getting my game back on.  As soon as the fire dies, I'm on that bike for an hour come hell or high water.  The bike is right next to the fireplace, in the corner, and there's no way I can do it while that log is still ablaze.. NO way.. lol   Way too hot! I got up at 5:00am, cleaned the kitchen, cleaned my bedroom, did three loads of laundry including ironing Jon's work clothes (I hate ironing), made the kids a weird breakfast of fried potatoes, sausage, bacon and biscuits (they're having cravings).  I'm gonna head out to the wood pile and chop some wood and by the time I'm done that fire should be out.  THEN on the bike and pray my knee works with me here.  I'm not gonna work my legs until Friday so that should give it time to heal a bit.  If I get this done, I'll head out to the gym to treat myself to a tan.  Breakfast was 1/2 hamburger patty w/1 egg Lunch will be 2 oz ground round and 1 egg Dinner will be roasted chicken. I WILL get to the lab first thing in the morning to get my blood work done.. no more delays. I'm still here, I'm still fighting but mama mia am I SORE!  LOL   Lori 310/240/180  and still fightin'!

You NEVER STOP!!! How can you NOT be loosing?? :)  If you kept that pace while you were gone- sounds like that could be the reason you dropped so much  :)  Being up two pounds is jus****er. Drink it up and you'll see that GONE in a day or two :) Our weather is COOOLD to... well, hit & miss it's cold! It first snowed... then rained... then froze... now it snowed again. So we have like an ice skating rink... for ROADS. And they are covered with snow to camo the ice. I'm not up to walking AT ALL :)   Congrats on doing SO WELL!!!

I'm losing.. just not steadily.  It's like I drop all at once, then just get a tease going on.  I started sucking down more water today and really held back from overdoing it on the coffee.  I never did get the tan in, but shopped instead and now I'm making a huge pot of chicken & rice for Jon to take to work and baked several dozen chocolate crinkles for the kids.. oh.. and I have my chicken roasting. I WANNA GO ICE SKATING!!!!   If only this knee would cooperate.  I was on those kinds of roads out in Iowa.  I haven't driven on that EVER.. even in NJ it never got THAT bad!  I actually got stuck on a snow mound and had to get a tow off of it.. lol  You definitely can't walk in that... heck, I'm still recovering from a fall on that stuff! I'm definitely wearing down...  but I have a line up of shows on obesity to watch all evening.  Gotta keep my eyes on the prize!

Wow...12lb over the holidays is fantastic!!  Wish I had done as well.  I envy you your energy.  Keep up the good work, Lori.  I'm gonna try my exercise bike...not sure if it will bother my knee or not, but won't know until I try.   Here's to a New Year and the resolve to get this weight off once and for all...Sherrie

The bike is the only thing I can do because of my knees.  There's a left and right torn acl unrepaired.. 1 meniscus gone in the right and a tear happening right now.  The non-weight bearing circular motion doesn't stress it at all. Is your bike recumbent?

No, it's not....and the seat is small and very uncomfortable.  Didn't hurt my knees at all this afternoon, but had to quit cause the darn seat hurt my rear (you'd think I had enough padding).  Guess I need one of those big tractor seats to match my butt.  I have ligament issues too plus a torn meniscus and bone on bone in my right knee.  Painted the bathroom today and then the bike...this old bod hasn't seen that much activity in a long time...felt good though!  Glad to know the bike doesn't bother my knee either.

Oh... the butt ache!  YES!  I went through that for the first few weeks but no matter how much it hurt, I got back on..... s l o w l y !   I CRIED over the pain in my tail bone!  LOL    I kept saying "my yass.. my yass.. my yass hurts".   Everyone in the house found this rather amusing.. lol  I tried tying a pillow to the seat and slid off the darned thing.. LOLOL  You have to see the wild inventions these silly people were coming up with.   Nothing worked.  For a while I was popping a vicodin 20 minutes before getting on.... that didn't work either.. just made me a silly peddler. I know it's gonna hurt... and I'm like a 3 year old when it comes to pain.. but for this, I just had to grit my teeth and get through it.  Eventually it stopped hurting.  Was it worth the pain?  Yea.. it was worth 70 lbs so far!
