weight limit???
okay so I found out today that one hour on a trampoline burns 400 calories! I loved my trampoline when I was little so I figured this would be perfect! I looked up weight limits today on the trampolines and even the big one said max weight was 250....I'm 320? How seriious is the weight limit...like is it really going to bust? My ab lounger says weight limit of 250 but I use it and its not broke yet???
I'd stick to the weight limit. You don't want to get hurt, and if you did, you wouldn't have legal ground to stand on.
I was 320. Best exercise for caloric burn? Arc Trainer. Also similar, ellipticals do well (but studies show the Arc is just a tad better).
When I was 320, I burned 1000-1400 calories an hour on the Arc.
How long on the "tramp" does it take to burn 400???
I think it may have a lot to do with the legs/feet/ankles as well as the make up of the trampoline. One of my best friends was out jumping on her kids' trampoline with them and just came down as normal as anything and CRUNCH.... her ankle was MUSH! That really slowed her WL down as she was in a darned cast FOREVER! Since then, she's had LB and lost a LOT... I'll have to ask her if she knows about the caloric burn on the "tramp"... if she's not to afraid of it now! :)
I would wait and maybe make that your goal- "When I hit a 250 loss- I will buy/rent/use the trampoline" sorta thing. KWIM? I know many home owners insurance will cancel your policy if they even learn there is a trampoline on the property.... my state won't even allow a blow up one anywhere around my daycare kiddo's due to the stats of so many injuries..... I'd LOVE one for ME though :)
They used to make those little trampolines for exercise. Not sure if they still do. They say it has something to do with the jumping. A good alternative would be to jump rope. Boxers do it and they say it's great exercise. You wouldn't have to worry about the weight stipulations either.
Good luck to you!
