Until today, I lost more pre-op through diet/exercise than I did since my RNY. Today, I am down 68 pounds-- the same as my pre-op losses. It took me 4 1/2 months to lose 68 pounds pre-RNY. It took me 5 1/2 months to lose it post-RNY.

Just goes to show ya-- surgery isn't everything! (*I'm teasing-- I know my losses would slow down no matter how I did it.)

wow! so, 68x2 lost???? that is incredible, surgery or no. Your post surgical loss is at a better rate than my friend D (50 years old), her scale barely moved for like 4 months - it was very weird, against all odds of starvation mode. her losses actually picked up after the 6 month mark, and continued after the one year anniversary. D lost hardly any wieght in her pre-op diet. My other friend A, age 35, younger male, was at the halt place by 4 months down the road. he had already lost 100# by then, much of it on the downside before surgery. Of my two buddies, i worry about A more in the re-gain arena...easy come, easy go, easy come again! AND he has more years ahead to stay in maintenance. Neither of my two friends are incorporating regular execise - both of them hate it! Shows to go ya how different bodies are.
