Frustration...

Oh... I know I know.. I have to be patient.. BUT.. I worked HARD to get my weight under 245.. I was at 242 just 3 days ago... today I hopped on to see 245!  Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr So now I'm looking at every little thing all over again.  Too many carbs?  Not enough fat?  Not enough protein?  Portion too big.. too small?  Not enough water?  Should I ditch the sausage, the heavy cream, coffee all together... go bungee jumping..  what!  I cut down to 30 minutes 7 days of  lifecycle (interval training) and ramping up the weight lifting 3 days a week.  I spoiled my body in the past by doing power lifting and it seems that this is all it wants to respond to now. 2 weeks ago I lost 9 lbs in a week.. this week is a gain....  what the HECK was I doing differently?  I even had a few drinks in the 9 lb loss week....  ok, truth be told,  I got ferschnickered.      Stoli's is stronger than I remember.. tee hee.  I was doing some heavy cooking and cleaning that week, and I walked the casino where my friend works about 6000 times, but I didn't hit a gym! Ok.. so today I ate: 1 easy over egg with 1 breakfast sausage link for breakfast 2 deviled egg halves for lunch Dinner will be a split chicken breast (ditching the veggies to lower the carbs) Maybe the three pots of coffee has something to do with it... I got readdicted to it when I was in Iowa and my daughter gave me 5 lbs of amaretto beans for Christmas. What's goin' on.... Lori

Mmm coffee...hehe  I'm a big coffee lover.  Do you think you've been ignoring your water intake and drinking coffee instead?  Are you putting more crap in your coffee than you realize?  Maybe your body just had an off day and you'll get back on track within the next few days.  I'm not sure about you, but I know my body does that.  Either that or maybe you hit a plateau.  Either way, give it time..it will go back down.  Lol, I swear everyones getting these holiday blues!!  Or is it weight blues??? hehe

Maybe a little of both.  Yanno, sometimes I just feel so desperate to get this weight off my A$$!  Ok.. I want it to come off other areas too...

Don't go nuts with the minor fluctuations. Also, does the sausage have sugar in it (many do).

I don't think so.. I usually check and if I remember correctly there's 1 carb in 3 links.  It doesn't spike my blood sugar.. what the heck.. it's best to forego the sausage.  I think I gotta do a meat & egg fast for a few days and see what happens. I also gotta get back off the coffee.  I was down to 3 cups a day... morning, afternoon and evening.  It's more like my "snack".  Now..  I feel like I might as well get an IV drip of maxwell house again.  Oh boy.. I hope I can get back on the path. This is SOoooooooooo not the way I wanted to bang up 2007.

Just eat clean for a while.  Choose only things in their closest to natural state.  Nothing from a box or bag, or with a label.   Sausage is an iffy one because it usually does have preservatives and some sugars.  I have an organic chicken sausage I allow myself (very lean) and it has 7g fat and 10g carbs. Stick to lean cuts of meat and produce and eat to satiety (no hunger pangs) and you'll do fine.  Get your water, protein, and fiber (veg/fruit) in and get your exercise ; ) I'm not one against coffee--I drink 2-3 c /day, but I have to to get through my day.  With all my driving and responsibilities...will not give it up.

Don't be so hard on yourself.  2008 is for new things : )

I think your body is taking a break.  Mine does that as well, great losing streaks, then nada for a while. 9 pounds in one week, that is over the top. ONE stinking breakfast sausage is NOT responsible for your stall. Nor the coffee.  I know there is some amount of blah blah out in the ether about caffeine and weight loss, but for my body, never did squat. I have quick caffeine completely many times over the years, for no additional loss value. Once for six months.  I will admit - it's worth a try to see if that is a factor for you. You know what I will say next:  patience, my friend!

I missed the registration dealine for "patience".. that's for sure. Yanno, if it was flatlined, I'd be ok with it.. I hit that a few times on the way down.  This is a gain though.... so rather than wait for it to get out of control, I'm obsessing. The coffee thing was always a sore spot with me... in the past I'd drink coffee all day long and have one meal in the evening.. but it was a hell of a meal... pasta.. lasagne.. whatever... now I eat all day long.... graze..  but I don't want to change the coffee routine.   I actually did change, but when I was away my friend and I were throwing the bull over pot after pot of coffee and I feel like I got rehooked.  The kicker is I LOST when I was doing this.... maybe it was because I was being careful and sticking to meat & eggs. You're probably right.. it isn't the coffee, but it's probably what I put in it.  I use splenda (1 carb per packet) and 2 tbsp of either sugar free French Vanilla (1 carb per tbsp) or 2 tbsp of half n half (1 carb per 2 tbsp) or 2 tbsp of heavy cream. I'm just not going to get on the scale until next year!!!!  (liar liar) Thanks.. Lori
