Hi all...I'm new to this site and have some questions. I'm interested in WLS but scared to death to do it. Guess I think, if I'm having trouble with WW restrictions, how the heck am I ever gonna live with putting just OUNCES in my stomach? I have signed up for an informational seminar here for a popular bariatric surgeon, but can't get in til April....and I'm quite sure I'm probably not gonna go that route.
So.....I joined WW last May and successfully lost about 30lb (recently gained back about 10 of that). I am determined that between now and April when I have my WLS seminar I'm gonna stick to WW points and see how much weight I can lose on my own. I'm about 275, 5'7 with a BMI of 43. Is this site for those of you who have chosen for one reason or another not to go the surgical route?
Thanks....Sherrie
Hi and welcome, first off! You will find all types here...some have had surgery, some would never do that, some waiting/debating wls...just a good hearted bunch tryin to make it in a thinner world - LOL. The one common theme: we all want to lose weight and keep it off long term. Somehow. Well, you kind of hit the ole nail on the head...gotta fix your head first about how you deal with healthy levels of food and exercising regularly. If it's a chore and sucks in your book, not much will help you BUT WLS. At that, WLS may not keep it off. A phrase you will read time and again, wls is a tool, not a cure. Stick around!
