4 parties down 3 to go...
Yet another party over and kept myself under control!
Good good good...
resisted eating any of the cold meats/ salami/ cabanossi cheese platter.. well accept for a very very small slither of edam cheese (no cracker)
steered right away from the lollies and crisps
had a generous helping of green salad no dressing, about 3/4 tablespoon of pasta salad in some sort of creamy dressing, same of a celery salad in a sourcream dressing, two small slices of roast lean beef and a teaspoon of mango chutney, piece of chicken breast meat in unknown marinade about the size of an egg, small dinner roll (white- no multigrain available). Kept away from the nacho type thing with corn chips/ creamy dip stuff.
Dessert.... despite a HUGE tempting tray filled to overflowing of chocolate cherry slice, choc caramel slice, custard tarts, coconut slice... you get the idea... I resiste having any.
Had 6 glasses of water (all the soda was full sugar), and 1 glass white wine.
All in all, happy with that.
Went home later and had a chicken salad for dinner and a low joule yogurt- the rest of my family were so stuffed with food they didn't even want dinner.
Tomorrow- party number 5 starts at 3pm- 'pot luck' nibbling through the afternoon with drinks into potluck dinner- that will be trickier as it is a smaller group and people will have made things especially. I am bringing a tray of sushi, a cranberry and citrus soft cheese and pita crisps, shortbread star biscuits.

I managed my parties this week well, too, until Thursday! Monday, Tues & Wed, only ONE piece of Sees' candy. This in spite of the work breakroom loaded down with pure chocolate, home baked goods (very hard for me to walk past). Wednesday, my bosses sprung a "luncheon" on us - however grateful I may should have been, i wasn't - it was only meatballs, weinies in puff party fachy-eye cheese and crackers - the only veggies were carrots & Celery. I picked around a few meatballs, one weinie, handfuls of veggies, skipped the dessert tray. whew....
Thursday, at the later in the day luncheon, I was less successful. Again, not many choices, the people who were bringing the better, less fat choices switched gears, so no soup and veg tray that I was counting on! Went out to supper that night, to boot, and had mexican, not exactly low fat. Friday (last night) at home, had two home style eggnog - whipping cream, sugar, etc. That was the extent of my debauchery. I have my own xmas open house on Sunday - lots of housework and cooking to do before that, i should be burnt out on food by then! This has been an extremely social season, mine always is, but wow, even for me, out there on the food -o - meter!
