And my RMR at my current weight is...bum bum bum...
...1988. You were really interested, right? For the test I had to get woken up at 6:15 a.m., couldn't move before that...no hair brushing, changing, or tooth cleansing allowed...sat on a table with a creepy ass mask on for 20 minutes and there you go. Please, oh please, let this turn me into less of a compulsive nut job!
I SHOULD add that I am 200...possibly a pound or so less, I was just trying not to think about it because I want to wait until I KNOW I am in onederland...a false celebration would suuuuck.
I edited my post with my weight, you see....it is probably more like "average" than "generous" for me but I am sure happy as hell I had the opportunity to find out...now I just need to WORK on working with it. You know I am the kind of person who would be like "Oh, I ate 2200 calories today and sat on my ass? Clearly I gained 10 pounds so how about I just give up." At least now I would know to STFU in a case like that.

That is interesting. GOOD FYI! Did you compare that number with the RMR formula to see how accurate it was? I think when I computed mine with the formula it was around 2600 calories. That was when I was about 275. Now that I am 35 lbs lighter, it has went down. :(
I haven't done the official test. What's the formal name for it? I think you breath into this machine and it spits out a number. It like 200 bucks at the hospital... I'll pass. What made you take the test?
.
On the result sheet they gave me it says "Indirect Calorimetry Assessment." Ha ha. Fancy. I bet RMR testing is a pretty official name for it too.
What's interesting, to answer another one of your questions, is that I was told to add (roughly...this part is not 100% scientific, but the test was) 100 calories for a completely sedentary lazy-ass day. That means like a desk job instead of truly staying in bed all day. I try not to have sedentary days but it's good to know. So that's like 1988 RMR or 2088 fat butt total.
When I go to caloriesperhour.com it estimates my RMR (Female, 22, 5'6.5, 200 pounds) at 1692, HOWEVER...below that it will multiply that number by 1.2 for a sedentary day, and then gives me 2030. That part is very close to my test result!
It was expensive but I took it because I am trying to quiet the part of me that is scared of food. Yeah, for a fat girl I can be pretty scared of it right! Now, if I have an off day, I have some science so I can tell myself...just because you ate an unecessary muffin DOES NOT MEAN YOU WILL GAIN 5 POUNDS TODAY! SEE! Now learn from it and move on, silly :)
