Double take
So, I saw a friend at the gym today I haven't seen in three weeks. By my blog pics you can see how drastic a change there was in the last three weeks. My friend did a doubletake. I loved it!!!
My trainer today and I were talking about my results so far as I have one more session of my original (60 session/5 month) program. I said that I was pleased with my increase in ability and change in appearance, and still mentally adjusting to the pace of the weight loss.
"That's how it goes," he said, first the ability, then the composition, then the pounds.
I've had a real challenging time changing my mindset from the mistaken diet approach of weight loss where you're cheered on for 7lb losses the first week and expected to lose 3-4 each week thereafter. Now I get what that loss was--muscle--and will never let that happen to me again. Still, my mind wants to see the numbers change, but really, when I'm overwhelmed with excess energy and smoothly fit in my size 18 sweatsuit, down from my 24s and 26s, I'm okay with the numbers going when they do.
As I attempt to stop weighing myself (lotsa luck) it will be interesting to see if the weight suddenly flies off, as he expects, as the muscle may kick my metabolism into overdrive.
...interesting journey....
