UPDATE-finally
Hey everyone,
I am doing really well with the LapBand. I was supposed to go for my second fill yesterday but my daughter has been real sick and can't keep anything on her stomach. To make a long story short, her ultrasound on gallbladder came back clean so they are sending her to a digestive diease specialist. Had to go get bloodwork done yesterday and they are going to place a scope down her throat in a couple of hours. Postponed fill to next Wednesday.
But, I have lost ~28lbs. That sounds so slow to me but I opted for slow and steady so I am happy with my decision. I try to exercise a little everyday but with all the parents health issues and now the daughters that sometimes gets pushed on the backburner. I feel awesome and my clothes are just hanging. DH said "you are going to have to have some new clothes", but I'm not ready to spend yet. I think I may take the nicer (work) clothes and have them taken in.
Parents are doing much better. All the places where mother was so bruised up have turned into hard knots....the doc says that is normal and it will take 6-8 months for her body to completey (sp?) heal. They are going to have to do surgery on her hand, Jan. 8th.
We had another little scare in the midst of all of this....they thought dad had prostate cancer but when I took him for the test everything came back negative, THANK GOD!!!!!!
So I suppose this Band was a blessing in more ways than one. I have gained some energy and strength that I didn't have just a couple of months ago, and God know looks like I'm going need it. LOL! I keep telling myself that God will never give me more to bear than I can handle so I suppose she/he must think I'm a tough ol broad. huh?
I do pop in here every couple of days at work, just can't post from there, but I do try to keep up with you guys. Miss you too! I'll try to come around more often, just can't promise anything at this point!
Angie,
It's so good to see you posting. I'm so sorry to hear your daughter has been so sick. I hope they find out what is going on very soon. Good to hear your parents are on the mend and the cancer scare turned out so positive.
Congrats on your loss. Slow and steady wins the race sometimes, and you are doing GREAT!!!
Try not to be a stranger.
Melinda
I think your loss is right on target...14# a month or so? very nice. I bet you will have even bigger losses here and there as time rolls on. Isn't your body pretty insulin resistant? this will do nothing but improve.
Wow...your family has certainly been tested here lately. I bet it will be extra specail this Xmas season to just be able to look at each other across the table and see each other upright! LOL.
Thanks, hon, for stopping back in here...keep coming back!
