try www.thedailyplate.com not only is it a great food journal it allows you to figure a BMR, calculate how much you want to lose per week and then put in activities to see your net calorie intake!
check it out I put it another sample intake day in my blog for you to see what works for me.
Also, forgot to share...to lose weight you need protein--.8-1g of desired body weight. DO NOT SKIMP ON THIS...it makes all the difference!
Be prepared, when you first up the calories, you may gain. I went up 4 lbs, but within 2 months and then a change in breakdown, it started to move....
how do you know when you've wrecked it? When you're eating healthy, appropriate calories or diet calories and cannot lose weight.
No reason I should have been 320 when I was eating 1000 calories. All the stupid lines like "You never saw a fat starving person in Africa/Concentration Camps/etc...doesn't allow for what happens when obesity causes it's own worsening state.
Dieting, IMO, causes yo yo dieting which causes metabolic shutdown....
Well, I havent had surgery, and I am convinced my metabolism is out to get me..lol its like..a jealous vendicitve exhusband from a past life hidden in there.
Now, I know this might sound flukey...and I wouldnt even say it if it didnt work..but ITS WORKING for me.
I drink Green Tea...ALL DAY...instead of jus****er.
Just plain old tetley decaffinated green tea.
you can add splenda or whatever..but I drink it, Im used to it..and it has really helped me.
its a proven fact that it will help with metabolism.
Best of luck to you!!
So much information - thanks everyone.
Today I enjoyed all real and healthy foods. I'm beginning to think I did some mental damage (be nice now - lol) with the plan I just stopped. Every time I started to prep my next meal I immediately worried over how many calories it was and a few times even took food off my plate. I had about 1,600 calories and it was hard getting those down. Sounds odd doesn't it?
That was the Medifast like diet? I totally understand. I was like a child kicking and screaming as he raised my calories. I was fearful for weeks. And I felt like a holiday turkey being stuffed. It was very uncomfortable and odd. I would tell my trainer how it made me want to vomit.
I've been at this 5 months and I still "fear" calories, though my body has adjusted to the appropriate calories.
Change the thought. Just remember, you have to eat to lose weight!
