Anyone have asthma?

Well, if you have never tried this before, it is worth a try. My younger daughter, turns out, was sensitive to dairy and cutting back on it helped her allergies. I can't say she had asthma, but ya never know. By the way, you are supposed to cut all three out, then incorporate each in, with several weeks in between to see if you have any adverse reactions. You may not. Go to Bob's Red Mill for recipes for soy/almond flour and just see about it.  I have developed exercise induced asthma (EIA) and when it is bad, I use Mucinex, or cheaper yet, the generic guafnasin (sic) tablets - and take at least 600 mg. Those help mucus to flow more freely, not get sticky, which is what my ashtma responds to.  my EIA has gotten better for some reason.  Inhalers never worked on me, my issue was more about thick mucus stuck in my throat.  Give Guafinsin a try. Never know.

Neecee, I just checked out the almond flour. It looks promising for me calorically. I'm going to give it a try!

I love soy, but only if flavored.   So you think you have to knock out all three first eh, and not the other way around?  Well I have to say, that just sucks.ha  Thanks for the info, I'll go to the websight and read about it.  Thanks for the mucinex info also.  I saw in the store it's very spendy!  But hey if it's worth it, I'm game!  I'll check out the generic also, thanks!

Hey there! Ya know, I am like you... I was diagnosed with asthma "later in life" and just REFUSED to believe that I had it. It was just when I had "a bug" or exercising etc. So I really did/do not believe I had true asthma. Every time I had a nasty bug- they gave me asthma meds and *nothing* was any better from them! I never had an "attack", just "huffed & puffed" a LOT.

Just like Andy, my asthma has gotten a LOT better since I have lost a bit of weight. I mean, I haven't been sick yet (knock on wood!) but, just my exercising/walking etc., that is so much better! I think WEIGHT can cause the asthma symptoms in some people. And if that's the case- I don't believe the meds will help me one bit... only WEIGHT LOSS will help me.

My son however, did have asthma. It flared up only when sick. Then he grew out of it at around 6 years old. BUT... we went to the UP of Michigan one summer- his HORRIBLE breathing woke me up! It scared me to death! Good thing I brought his meds "just in case". Cause he hadn't used them in over a year- but he HAD to have them then. Must be something in that area that affected him cause he's not ever had a problem since!
