Cost of eating healthy (poll)
Often people tout that eating healthy costs less than otherwise. I beg to differ. My bills are almost double what they were pre-any diets/program last few years. So I'm curious. How many calories do you eat each day and what would you say you spend each week on groceries? Include grocer story, convenience store, fast food, vending machine--all intake....
It's not that I "don't like" low cal, I just think in the end it ruins the metabolism. Frankly, I can be full on 1200-1400, just force myself to have more as it's what I need.
50 bucks, huh? Wow! Well, I try to buy all healthy and can easily spend 100-130week! From $1/tomato to $3 asparagus to $5 chicken breasts (x3), to $3 raspberries (x3), $1 persimmon (influenced by a fellow poster here), etc.... And that's not including dog bones and grooming items.
That's for the whole week? Oi! I don't need all of that to survive....plus I have stuff in the freezer...lots of veggies. And LOTS of protein already in there....so much chicken breast and sliced turkey breast and I have a a BUNCH of venison to choose from at my parents house thanks to my brother shooting 3 deer this year yummo!!!!! Hmm tomorrows dinner is definitely consisting of deer lol. So usually I only need a bit of food at times.
