absent lately
Aww, thanks Missed you guys too!
I do have to remind myself of that daily as well. I also try to think of these things as challenges because it's an opportunity to succeed. It takes work for me because I do have a pessimistic side but I must admit that my attitude and state of mind have definitely improved. This is a big factor in weight loss success, so I do work on it. Support is another biggie and I'm so glad to have these boards and you all!
Wooo hoooo to you.
in 4 months that kind of loss? Very good rate of loss. I hear you on ethe 1.4 - for so many years, my scale would not give, yet i would say my eating habits are better than ever.
Further, i have learned some times, there's a different number that is harder to quantify: the weight we DID NOT gain...knowhaddimean? Just because my scale does not move, does not mean my body is not doing something right. Glad to see you back among us. The other life stuff, this too shall pass.

Thank you all for the welcome back. It warms my heart, sniff
Someone was telling me the other day that the average weight gain over the holiday season is 17 pounds! 17 pounds. Think about how long it could take to lose that. If we can just maintain over the holidays we are all ahead of the game.
I, for one, will not beat myself up for the next few weeks. I will try to be careful and not over indulge too much but I will enjoy things and not deprive myself. I'll try to maintain consistent workouts and be proud of my accomplishments so far.
BTW, my birthday is two weeks after Christmas (same day as Elvis' b-day) so my season is a little longer! LOL But I'm sticking with it!
It was tough to share the pictures but I figured that 10% of my weight would be a good time to start sharing. Maybe it will help someone who is struggling and motivate them to keep trying. I think that is why a lot of us are here-for the support.
