Edible gifts...

Rochers!!!!!!!! I had some over Thanksgiving holiday. It was so unnsatisfying because I had like a 3 pack. Wallywerld has like 12 of them for 2.97. I was tempted to get them, but it can wait. Another good one is those damn Hershey with Almond Kisses.. I swear the Hershey guy knew what the hell he was doing when he made those. I cannot stop eating those if I see them. Em.. to answer your question.. I eat some of them,  throw/give them away. Alot of times I leave them at work because the minute they come into the house, they don't stand a fighting change. I do freeze them when I am at my parents house. I have alot of crap at my mom's house in the deep freezer I have opened....Girl scout cookies, school sold candies and cookie doughs. Its best if they stay there because they start things that can't be stopped.

Look, I think it's dowright unfair the way these things melt in your mouth.

I don't mind the odd Baci.... or two... or three.... hells bells why not the lot?

(Em quickly reminds herself that the second one doesn't taste any better than the first one...)

And those Raffaello coconut ones?

And Bouchee...  weep weep....

I did like your solution last year though.

I reckon the worst moment is when you catch yourself snacking on those really waxy tasteless chocolate just because they were there and open,

1-If you live in a city, give it to the homeless person with the hungry sign.  Think when was the last time they received such a gift? 2-Donate to a hospital 3-Enjoy your favorite and exercise afterward.   Treats don't have to off limit, just managed well.  You can do it.

Donate... that's an option.

I do manage treats... I have built up a strong level of restraint and temper my consumption, but must confess chocolate is a terrible temptation for me.

My seasonal goal: maintain.

I am a closet re-gifter! I put a fresh nametag on it and get it the hell outa my face.  I do relish and enjoy select few as well, but only the top quality!

Neecee you're talking my language... nothing like recycling a perfectly lovely gift to a more worthy cause.

The bit I like about the gifts is the card... I love the personal messages of gratitude and thanks for my efforts with the students.  It's what keeps me teaching- I keep the really touching ones in my diary and read them when I feel like chucking teaching in (interview time usually!)

I save all cards, too, for that very reason...just to get the feel-good when the chips are down. I like to have small gifts for hostesses of parties I will go to, or if someone stops by and I just want to give them a little something.  I am blessed to have so many give to me now and all year. That is the real blessing.
