Hi All:

I was scheduled to have LAP RNY surgery on Dec. 12th but have decided to postpone it until after I have my hip replaced.  I had major surgery back in June 1007, too.  Having three major surgeries in a six month span of time was just a bit more than I could handle.  Plus, my hip is getting worse (pain and mobility) and I feel this needs to be my priority at this time.

I'd started the liquid diet and have been quite successful.  I've lost 18 pounds on the liquid diet and a total of 34 pounds since mid June when I was at my highest weight.  I am working with both a dietician and a nutritionist on a food plan to continue this quest.

I'd like to hang around here for the support.  I have been very active on the Main Forum.  This forum, however, might better meet my needs now that my plans have changed.

Looking forward to hearing from some of you!

wow, big changes ahead for you, Carol! I hope the hip surgery will help the pain, and for sure, the mobility! Welcome and hope you get active here, too.

Welcome!

Good luck on your upcoming surgery on your hip!!

Who knows, you may have such success losing weight you'll cancel your Band surgery alltogether!

Either way - you'll do great!

Welcome Carol! Sounds like you're really on the right track with loosing! I have a very good friend who had the LB surgery in June and I was wanting to do this as well- since my insurance was not going to cover any part of it- I decided to work it out on my own :) I'm so glad that I did!!  The weights not flying off- but it IS coming OFF :) :)  Last I looked at the scale (yesterday- after drinking a TON of water the night before!) I was at 26 lbs lost since August 20  :) :)    You are doing GREAT!! Come back and post often!!
