Slightly excited, but kinda worried

Well, I have started eating a little differently...not so much fried, fast foods and no sodas.  I have also been working out at least 3x a week...sometimes more.  In the past week I have went from 288 point something to 279.  Yesterday, I went to a wlclinic and they put me on phentermine, in 1 day I lost 3 lbs.  I am excited because I've lost about 10 lbs in 1 week, but I'm kinda scared that I'm just going to put it all back on and even more.  I'm just to the point in my life that this is it.  I HAVE to lose weight....for myself, for my daughter, and for my future.  I don't know whether to be excited or cautious...happy or worried......

By all means, be excited...and AWARE.  It is not the pill that is causing the weight loss. It is one tool that you are using to drop your caloric intake.  Be asking yourself...is the food plan that I am on something i can, more importantly will use in the future when in the maintenance phase? If the food plan is not a reasonable approach, then ask your clinic about the maintenance diet.  Fried, fast foods and sodas are not going to be too much a part of your diet from now on if you are truly serious about this. Those foods are certainly not the only ones that can make you fat, but they help you get there a lot faster! I think you are entitled to be excited!

I agree with Neecee. And you are absolutely allowed to be excited! I think it is natural to be a bit shaken up when you start changing your life for good. Try to see it as a sign that this is major...in a good way. There is no reason, as far as I know, that you CAN'T do this...if you choose eating habits you can stick with, and address the emotional aspect of eating, nothing should be stopping you. It's not a mystery to me now why I put back on the weight I once lost and more...I slipped up, gained 10 pounds, thought it was over, and ate to "cure" my shame. At least now I know that it certainly didn't do anything positive for me.  CONGRATULATIONS! And continue to give yourself the credit you deserve :)

phentermine is a great I lost 60lbs on it. But I did not make the necessary changes to my life style and  gained 80lbs.  So be excited  you are doing the right thing in changing your habits as well learn from my mistakes.  Good luck you can do it
