Researching Resources
I've been researching weight loss resources. I checked into OA and it turns out there are two different meetings each week in town. I rearranged my work schedule so I can start attending the meetings.
I also talked to my doctor when I went in for a check up today. She told me about a nutritionist on campus who is free. I might consider going. I have gone to a nutritionist before, but I didn't think it was very helpful.
I also invested in a calorie, carb, and fat count book. It's called the Calorie King Calorie, Fat, and Carbohydrate Counter. I like it because it also has sections on diabetes, fiber counts, and all sorts of other information.
I've also done some research about how many calories people should actually consume in a given day. I'm considering joining Karate with my fiancee too. I don't know that I'll join, but I'm thinking about it.
I think I'm on the right track, now I just have to stick to everything. I don't have very much will power, but at least I have a plan now.
Good for you! It looks like your getting ready. I also use Calorie King, but online. Its a one time fee for life. I love using it, it's so easy if your counting calories. That is what one of my weight loss doctors told me to use to journal my foods.
I also hear ya on the nutritionsit issue. I have been to them several times, but never learn anything. They have even said I know it all already. It's just getting down to the nitty gritty and sticking with it!
Good luck!
Hi There
Great on you to do research. Knowledge is power
Another very good source of info is teh book You on a diet from dr Oz (on oprah a lot)
It gives such specific info on how our bodies work when on diets etc. You the owners manual is also frim him, but more general about the human body. Fascinating stuff!
