I have been thinking about buying a juicer, but they're all soooo expensive, and I don't know which one is best.  Does anyone know of any good brands or where to buy used juicers?

I'd keep an eye open for them at good wills and thrift stores that are in more affluent areas. My aunt lives in an affluent area and their thrift stores have some of those higher end items that the average second hand store might not have. You could also check at Pawn America or somewhere similar. They also have some appliances, so they might have a juicer. Good luck with the hunt!

You could always try eBay. They seem to have everything there. Only thing I can think to add. Good luck. ^_^

I have one- we don't use it a lot but now & then I pull it out. Up here- it's SO expensive to buyfruit for it- cause they take quite a bit to get any amount of juice really. Mine is sort of like this (link) though I think it's a "juiceman". There are some cheaper juicers out there- I don't think you have to get a real expensive one to do the deed.  It's nice to know that what you are drinking IS what you are drinking :) http://cgi.ebay.com/HAMILTON-BEACH-HealthSmart-Juice-Extractor-67150-Juicer_W0QQitemZ260178214559QQihZ016QQcategoryZ20677QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Just a perspective, my thoughts on juice:

It takes maybe 3-4 oranges to make one glass of OJ... that is ALOT of calories and very little of the fibre you would gain from eating the fruit. It's the equivalent of eating the same amount of oranges- and alot quicker and less filling!

I drink about 1 small glass of orange juice a month as a treat.

Vegetable juice... never really been into that myself, but the calories would depend on the type of vegetable you chose.

I agree! It takes a LOT!  I think it would depend on the type of WL plan you are on... like WW, I can have a LOT of fruit and veggies.... when I do use my juicer- which is RARE :)  I use mostly carots & other veggies and toss in a fruit to sweeten it up :)  That way I get a lot of veggies in if I'm having a hard time. But it's quicker to buy V8 LOL

cucumber (seeded and peeled) and a bit of yogurt and black pepper makes a lovely drink...... no juicer needed...

What I've eaten is here for the world to see

I think the best juicer on the market is the Greenstar. Here's just one website that tells about them. http://www.bestjuicers.com/greenstar.html

Thanks for all of the replies.  I am thinking about a juicer that you can actually throw the whole fruit/vegetable into...not one that only gets the "juice" out of it....like a VitaMix that actually turns the whole thing into a juice/smoothie drink, and doubles as other things....a grinder, a food processor, etc....
