Welcome to the board!
My confidence is shot right now ... perhaps you can glean some tips from my web site or blog.
I would say please read over some of my recent posts.
I am all about balance each day: think food guide pyramid and making sure all of the wholesome foods get into your mouth first. We all KNOW the foods that we either do not need at all or should eat like 3-4 times a year!
Also, if you are not exercising, think of something and do it starting today!
yes, wls might have re-triggered my panic situation too. it runs in my family, and every little thing (comlication) would make me think I was dying. I know when i was researching it, panic would wake me up in the night just thinking about having my gut re-routed! And i have friends who have had extremely good luck with their wls. the technique is getting better and better.
anyway, welcome and jump on in here anywhere.
Welcome to the board Deborah. I have just begun my new journey so I really don't have a lot of input that would be helpful to you. So far I have been concentrating on 1. portion control
2. nutritional value
3. calorie/fat/carb/protein counts
I use Fitday.com to keep track of every morsel I put in my mouth..it helps keep me accountable and in control of my food choices.
Remember to drink plenty of water throughout the day!
Best of luck to you
Colleen
Hi Deborah! Welcome to the board. I have found Weigh****chers for myself, The Flex program they have I love it, maybe you could look into it? Welcome. I know how you feel with your reasons for not undergoing WLS. I feel the same way. I suffer from depression and anxiety attacks.
As far as weight loss, last time I really buckled down to lose weight I jus****ched what I ate like a hawk and I worked out like a mad woman. I lost 40 lbs, but I'm finding that this time around, it's not working.
Have you looked into working with a nutritionist? I did that for a while and I learned a lot of good information about weight loss and how to deal without going too far. I guess that's my advice. Other than passing along the advice to write everything you eat down for a while so you can see what you're eating, when, and why. That might help too. Good luck.
