Jumping Ship
Hello everyone,
I haven't been on much lately as work, family life, and dr. appointments have kept me extremely busy. I have been looking into WLS and actually started the process at the end of August. I haven't said anything as my insurance, Priority Health, is one of the most difficult insurances to get WLS approved. Add to that, I decided the procedure that would work best for me would be the VSG. PH covers the other three (including the DS), but until this last September the VSG had been specifically excluded. They have started allowing this procedure, however, only with certain conditions and as a "last resort" if the other procedures can't be done due to certain medical conditions.
Anyway, just got the call...I've been approved for VSG surgery!!!! This means I'm technically jumping ship, but hope you guys don't mind if I stay right here and continue posting on occasion. I've found such a great support system on this non-op board.
For those concerned about me going to have WLS, I have thought long and hard about this decision, the potential complications, and what is best given my weight...including my medical history. I've been thinking and researching this since May, not wanting to make a rash decision in a moment of pain.
