Hello Sara,  Welcome to the board... we are a fun bunch....  if you wanna drop some pound post baby.... get to nursing and drink lots and lost of water.... my daughter was in NICU when born.. so I had to pump milk every few hours to take to the hospital...and I tell you.. I dropped 30 pounds in 2 months.... but the key is you have to exercise and keep up the water intake and decrease your daily calories to keep loosing weight.... Welcome again... Hope to read more on your journey... congrats on your baby!!!

sorry it took so long for my reply! it's hard to get here everyday! thanks for the encouragement and the congrats! i wish i could have kept the breastfeeding up but my right breast gave me so many problems. first the milk didn't come in on time. then it wasn't producing enough and she would get upset so we had to supplement the formula! so, now it's just formula. (and at the price of the formula i really wish i could nurse!) if you don't mind my asking what happened the she was in nicu? a few weeks ago we were in the hospital. she vomited green stuff up (she doesn't eat strained foods yet...so it shouldn't have been green). the pediatrician sent us to have all kinds of tests done. they never really found out what it was. first they thought her intensines were flipped around then they thought she had a uti (b/c the sample they got was contaminated) when they got the blood work back it wasn't a uti either. so they ruled out as a virus. anyway...thanks again!

Aww sorry to hear ya'll had to go to the hospital.... my litte one was born at 29 weeks... so she was 2 pounds 5 oz. she was in the NICU for 6 weeks, growing, learning how to drink her bottle, etc.   SHe never was sick... just little and needed time for a lungs to get stronger so she could breath on her own... she came home at 4 pounds, 9 oz.    How is your little one now?  is she okay?

Hi Sara and baby girl!

If you have not focused on consistency on making healthier choices in life til now, please give that a fair shot. BEFORE WLS I mean!  You are right...all foods can fit, but it's about teaching yourself the right portions and having the higher fat/sugar things less often. In my case, the alcohol things less often!  HAR... What we all realize 'round here is what each of us is willing to reduce greatly will vary. As for me, i can walk by ice cream and cookies/cakes way easier than i can a chilled beer and chips. Therefore, I make room for those things in my food plan. We cannot have it all any longer.  It's about finding what more nutrient dense foods you need to incoporate into your diet and the "extra foods" that can be either deleted or reduced.  Do you have trigger foods?  Or behaviors like eating out too much?  Do you exercise at all? Do you think you are compulsive/obsessive/addicted to food? How about veggie/fruit intake? Multivitamins? I'm nosy! Welcome.

Sorry it took so long for me to reply back. it's hard to get online everyday! Thank you. Well, to answer the questions....i'm not sure i know what you mean by trigger foods..if you mean like foods that i can't walk by and not want a taste (usuallys sweets) then yes. i am a stay at home mom so we don't eat out, maybe once a month (if i'm lucky...i'd rather cook), i've started to excercise again..at least 20 minutes on the treadmill or 30 minute workout dvd. not compulsive b/c i can turn food away when i feel full. i love veggies...fruit is not good for me since i have pcos the natural sugars in them, i use sugar substitute for almost everything...i am still taking my pre natal vitamin. (i will buy otc when i have too). but as for my technique right now, i am going to a wlclinic and taking a diruetic. i really want to lose the weight this way, since my daughter is so young and i don't know what i'd do if i had the surgery...my parents live 30 min from but  let's just say right now they have a lot on their plate. they'd help but it'd be tough. sorry i rambled on. thank you for the support. and thanks for the congrats on my daughter!
