Bariatric Surgery- The "Easy" way out?
Those are good words from the cardiologist! This is what i have come to believe. Many of us obese folk - me included - think it's "okay" to be fat on some level. It isn't. We should be scared stiff about being fat or returning to an obese state.
WLS is just as risky as being 100+ pounds overweight in other words. I mean, take WLS or leave it, it is one way that is statistically proven to reduce body weight at least in the first year after surgery.
The proverbial ball goes back into OUR court once surgery has assisted in removal of a significant pile of weight.
I think that if it were me...that i would just say something like when you've been in the shoes that i've walked in then you can judge.l to be quite honest i haven't even told my family that i am starting the process (which i hope i won't have to but when dieting isn't enough we do what we have to) of the wls. so, like others said before me you will come up with something and i hope that this helped.
I would tell them that its just a tool to help you lose weight.................most people think its easy but thats because they havent had it and arent over weight.....................you still have to do your part with surgery or it could still fail! Not to mention I could care less what they think..........lol
Trying to workout to drop the lbs first. Wish me luck! Still not sure if WLS is right for me.
