Feeling blue :(
It can be hard to "diet" - it is NOT hard to make changes.
Start by just changing one thing. You mentioned yogurts/ice cream. Start there. Try deleting those particular things for a while. 3 days. let's say. Wait til they are gone or give what you have on hand away. Make sure that you plan your meals. In my mind, we all *know* what to do: eat a balanced meal, but where we fall is when these items are not at our disposal, we eat whatever is there. If you have a job, take lunch and at least one daily snack with you. Lunch should be things like whole grain bread, 1-2 small pieces, 1/2 c - 1 c veggies, 1 piece fresh fruit, string cheese or half pint of non fat milk, 2 ounces of lean protein (beans, eggs, beef, pork, fish, etc). very little added fat like mayo or lowfat ranch. Snack should be 1/2 - 1 ounce lean protein again, plus either veggies/fruit or whole grain ( 1 ounce crackers, 1 piece bread, 1 svg whole grain chips) I love keeping a low cal high protein powder at my desk - that can be stirred into a cup of nonfat milk or into my mid-morning cup of coffee, add a piece of fruit and that is a very typical snack for me. Best of luck, and don't get depressed, make small changes til you get it right.
Quick thought on adding more fruit and veg to your day:
Since you like dairy you could cut up a piece of fruit and enjoy it like a dip into the yoghurt. Veg pieces (carrot, tomatoes, cucumber) with a dip made from natural yoghurt mixed with a little mexican seasoning.
Perhaps you could mix a plain low fat unflavoured yoghurt with pureed fruit, chopped fresh fruit or drained tinned fruit in natural juice (not syrup)- while your taste buds adjust you might like to add a small amount of artificial sweetener.
When selecting dairy products choose skim products with low sugar content- I don't know if you get them in the States but I love Vaalia and Jalna brand yoghurts.
Make a start, and take a short 15 minute walk each day.
