no sugery pls
Hi Vicky,
I lurked this post yesterday. I too am an emotional eater. I eat when I'm worried, when I'm sad, when I'm happy. I like to eat and food is the one friend that never betrays me until I look in the mirror or my clothes don't fit.
This is what has worked for me for the last month. I joined CURVES. It is a lot of fun and it makes me feel better to go. It is low empact so even a 300+ pounder like me can do it with little difficulty. I also started tracking everything I put in my mouth. I use SparkPeople but there are several sites out there Fitday, The Dailyplate, etc. Try one of those sites and be honest with yourself about what you are putting in your mouth. I also keep a journal of how I'm feeling and what I did when I felt a certain way.
This method has helped me. I have not emotionally ate in a month. I have lost 17 pounds and 12 inches so I am motivated to continue.
I hope this works for you.
It also doesn't hurt to have someone, whether a professional or just a friend that you can talk to.
Good luck in your journey.
