remember what I said about gray ponytails...nuttin worse.  Cut it, then it won't look so notcieable IF it becomes *that* bad. I would not worry at this point.

I know this post is like almost a week old but wanted to add that STRESS can also cause hair loss. Stress, trauma etc. When I was breast feeding my son I quit when he was 12.5 months old. A month later he was diagnosed with a heart defect and had to have open heart to survive beyond age 5. This was a HUGE trauma. He had his surgery- then had a blood clot break loose and lodge in the back of his brain- caused swelling, seizures etc. A few months later- my hair was doing as you described here. I was really getting concerned but just blamed it on hormones from my not nursing anymore. It wasn't until we had another similar situation- with more trauma that included a loss AND counseling, that I learned that after experiencing a trauma- you can expect hair loss to begin about 3 months later.  The dr explained the reasons but I cannot remember the exact explanation. It was something about the (in my case) emotional trauma causing a SHOCK to my system and taking 3 months to actually GET to the length/stage where the hair was "shocked" and it fell out.... I have searched and searched for the right explanation but cannot find it :( Sure enough- 3 months after our loss.... my hair started coming out! I thought others would notice it to, but to others- it wasn't even thinner :) I have also read that when your body goes through a good weight loss- THAT is a sort of "trauma" or "shock" to your body and this is the reason for the loss of hair? Not sure about that, but knowing the trauma/shock theory.. it sure stands to reason. It'll grow back I'm sure! GREAT JOB on the WL!!!!!!!

Thank you , and Bless you and your family. Iam so sorry for your loss.  And yes as you said no one here will listen to me about  it thinning, they think it feels and looks the same put i can tell, Dr. wants me to see a dermatalgist, I have had blood work, says its ok, dont know if it was from the meds Dr, says maybe, says stop , i did, Had a lot of dizziness, thought maybe was my blood pressure meds i quit them, now have lot headachs, I know iam probley babbling Lol, But i feel like dodo!! LOL But in another sense feel good about losing some weight, got long way to go but iam getting there. And you proberly are right it may be a shock to the system from losing weight. Well enough i have taken to much of your time. Thanks for the reply, Delilah

Weight loss will cause hair loss.  Is tied to hormones and level of estrogen.  It's also due to low protein.  You should be eating .8-1g protein per desired body weight.  What I read here--a lot of women aren't eating enough calories or protein.
