Is this the first time you've had long hair? A while back that happened to me and my hairdresser told me it was normal to lose hair but that I hadnt noticed in the past because my hair was shorter - longer hair gets caught in the drain thing... and it is just more noticeable EVERYWHERE than shorter hair is. She suggested that I stop pulling it back into a ponytail because that was causing breakage - I havent worn a ponytail since and it has stopped falling out.  Now I use a claw clip if I need to pull it back.
What I've eaten is here for the world to see
336.1 (8-1-07)/319.0 (12-28-07)/200 (goal for 12-31-08)/160 (goal)
Next mini goal is 290 by 1-31-08

Hair dresser was right...me being one...well in progress lol. Yes ponytails do some major damage. So do ALOT of things can just break your hair. You should see how much hair comes out of my head every day! Especially when I straighten it....but I damage my hair to no extent let me tell you! I have been dying my hair since I was in the 5th grade. My hair is shot but healthy for what I put it thru. But back to the post lol I always get off track! Weight loss can lead to hair loss....it happens. But it will grow back. :) No freaking out! :)

I have had long hair almost forever, have had it cut couple times, but i think its been more noticeable lately, You know you may be right i do tend to pull it back a lot in bands, but there the kind that are soft. Maybe i will get it cut some maybe that will help, Thank you so much for your response. Delilah

I heard protein will help you not lose your hair.  Maybe you're not getting in enough protein? 60-70 grams a day is what my doctor recommends.  But FYI, I have long hair too, and it falls out all the time.  I went to a dermo once and they said to me that losing 100 strands of hair a day was normal.  I try to keep mine up a lot of the time, to avoid the possibility of losing more by brushing it or something.  I lose a lot of hair.

I've always been told that hair falls out more in the fall and winter months than the summer. It's fall! But......until you said you had a blood test, I thought it might be malnutrition.  But I guess not.  Be sure you're eating enough protein and taking vitamins. Congratulations on your magnificent weight loss! Bren

Glad I'm not the only one! I figure as long as I don't notice any bald patches, it's no big deal...right? In fact it's bizarre to me that I notice my hair everywhere but don't have any visible nekkid spots on my head. No new information there, but you're not alone!

It's a fact of life--- weight loss often causes hair loss. Ayuh, it's true. And so do some anti-depressants. Taking sublingual Biotin may help. Also-- try to avoid dye for a while-- it speeds the loss. Good news is it'll come back!
